Beautiful scenery, great service, and even better food, all in a medieval castle! One of a kind experience to be remembered.

A thoroughly enjoyable place to stay a night or two. The restaurant and the views are superb though as previous review have mentioned the rooms are looking a little tired.
If I was to give one piece of advice it would be to spend the extra and go for a tower room as the rooms in the main building suffer...

Price/ quality very low. Junior Suite Rooms badly equiped (Creaking bed, no slippers) No room Service Staff was good but very few (get ready to carry your bags threw lots of stairs!) Restaurant Snobbish in service and pretentious in food ending in badly cooked food (biggest disappointment were scalops)

Unique location , but a tired establishment. Chipped furniture, gloomy louges, sepulchral lighting, no fresh flowers or little extra (like a glass of water on checking in, seeing that you have to drag you luggage up a number of steps to get to the pousada). The staff, with a couple of exception is pretty dour. Well worth getting early or...

Staying in Obidos castle is an experience - you're perched high above the city, with a wall for your hallway and an arrow slit for your window. The room itself was less of an experience - the room smelled musty, you could feel every spring in the mattress, and an obviously hastily constructed paper-thin wall that divided our tower into...

Tall, imposing rock walls of the castle loom above you as you approach the castle. You pass through the gate and into an open courtyard leading to steps entering the castle proper. Once inside, you immediately know you are in for an intimate experience--your place is in one of only nine guest rooms, on top of a towering hill, detached...

If you've ever had fantasies about sleeping over in a castle, this is it! Ask for one of the two tower rooms - there are only nine rooms total. You can sit up on the battlements, with a snack and a bottle of wine and watch the sun set over the town. Then climb up two flights (one of which...

This pousada is in the old castle at the very top of the hill in Obidos. I think they have only nine rooms; ours was on the first floor, and was quite large, although the bathroom was kind of low on space, especially for shelf space. Some of the rooms on the second floor are in the castle's towers; they...

We stayed at the Pousada for 3 nights with our extended family. The property and views were beautiful. It was definitely an interesting place to stay. We had a large room although it was next to the kitchen which was sometimes noisy. The room was comfortable but not luxurious. The service was excellent. We felt well cared for. The food...

Nice experience to brake the routine of regular hotels . Very unusual, very interesting, very romantic,BUT not very comfortable , and as almost in every place in Portugal the food (breakfast) is below the average.
