Staying at Lisbon Lounge was the most amazing experience in this gem of a city. located at the heart of the traveller destination in Lisbon, closer to the Bar district (Barro Alto) , shopping & other attractions, this place makes it easy to travel, walk around the city. Also the people running the place are endearing. Bruno at the front... More

Having backpacked a lot (China, Southeast Asia, Mediterranean, Americas) and after 6 weeks of backpacking through Europe, I can honestly say that this hostel is the best I have come across. The breakfast is as good any 4-star hotel, but the dinner is next level. A chef cooks a 3 course meal for you, with unlimited wine- for €10. So... More

This hostel has a series of pluses and perhaps just one negative. Will start with the plus: - Fantastic location (close to all the action, the metro station, and shopping places) - Phenomenal staff: If you do not fall in love with the team I will be surprised. Special mention is Bruno (who is truly the coolest dude ever), Miguel... More

I stayed at this hostel and the Yes! Lisbon hostel. I preferred the latter, but this one was good too. Pros: clean, secure, common areas on each floor, free breakfast, friendly staff Cons: no AC in rooms, had to wait for showers in the morning, located on a main street with people from restaurants who would bother us every time... How hostels should be. Well renovated traditional building in amongst old town Lisbon. Good clean dorms, newly furnished luxurious living areas, clean bathrooms and welcoming staff. All this within the cheap hostel price range. Highly recommended for solo travellers, couples or groups.

Absolutely excellent hostel, very clean and modern and comfy beds. BUT we ran into trouble when cooking meals - they serve a dinner for €10 a night (excellent value if you're not a a strict budget!) but being super budget travellers couldn't afford this every night. Unfortunately, the meal is cooked for 15-20 people a night and the whole kitchen... More

No complaints. This is the cleanest/nicest hostel I've been to! The staff are also very friendly and work very hard to make sure you have a good time. If you need any help with directions or the best food places, make sure you ask them! The kitchen is fully equipped so you can cook your own food. The breakfast is... More

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighborhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
