This is a really neat Hotel. Quiet, friendly, comfortable, clean etc. It is within walking distance of the city center. Miriam, Pedro and Paulo are so pleasant courteous and helpful. Benn there now a few time and already booked my next stay.

Lavra Guest House was a pleasant surprise. Our room on the second floor (room 206) was not big, but very bright and clean and with an amazing view of the city. Just outside our window, there was a communal terrace. We were concerned it would be noisy at night, but it turned out the terrace closed at 22 hours. The... More

We stayed for our first week in Lisbon at the Lavra GuestHouse. It really suited our needs because everything was within walking distance and the staff – Pedro, Paulo and Miriam – was very helpful and friendly. Our room on the top floor was basic – a bit small for two people - but we spent very little time there.... More

Lavra is in the labyrinthine area of Alfama and rather difficult to find and navigate to/from, but is in a quiet, residential location. The rooms are clean, spacious and nicely decorated, but a bit spartan and lacking in function. The bathroom was tiny, the sink drain backed up, and the glass shower door did not close properly, leading to a... More

I have spent a weekend in Lavraguesthouse with my couple and it was a good surprise. The staff were always nice and helpful. The room was clean and cosy. But what I really liked was the terrace on the first floor, the view is wonderful.

Difficult to find on foot, ended up getting a taxi. Guest house is near the top of a steep hill. Basic but clean no mirror in room and no electric socket in bathroom, however they did put a mirror in the room after requesting one. Can't comment on breakfast s we never ate there. Walked 5/10mins down the hill and... More

The location, the staff were very friendly and helpfull. The history of the Guesthouse was interesting, the wide old marbel staircase. Big Windows looking over the street. Very good value for money. The hotel is in a quiet street in the center , it also has several very authentic restuarants and several shops. The room was spacious with high celllings and... More

My only good comment about this hotel is that the girl on reception was extremely pleasant and helpful and I am sure if she had a vacant room she could have moved us into she would have. The room which was out in an annexe was very damp, the musty smell was so bad that we could not sleep and... More

I stayed at the Lavra Guesthouse for four nights in september 2013. The hotel is located in a traditional Lisbon house in a very quiet street in the Lavra neighbourhood.. In 3 minutes you can reach the Baixa with the nearby elevador do Lavra, it's a steep climb to get back to the hotel. The staff is really friendly and helpful.... More
