Lavra is in the labyrinthine area of Alfama and rather difficult to find and navigate to/from, but is in a quiet, residential location. The rooms are clean, spacious and nicely decorated, but a bit spartan and lacking in function. The bathroom was tiny, the sink drain backed up, and the glass shower door did not close properly, leading to a... More

I have spent a weekend in Lavraguesthouse with my couple and it was a good surprise. The staff were always nice and helpful. The room was clean and cosy. But what I really liked was the terrace on the first floor, the view is wonderful.

Difficult to find on foot, ended up getting a taxi. Guest house is near the top of a steep hill. Basic but clean no mirror in room and no electric socket in bathroom, however they did put a mirror in the room after requesting one. Can't comment on breakfast s we never ate there. Walked 5/10mins down the hill and... More

The location, the staff were very friendly and helpfull. The history of the Guesthouse was interesting, the wide old marbel staircase. Big Windows looking over the street. Very good value for money. The hotel is in a quiet street in the center , it also has several very authentic restuarants and several shops. The room was spacious with high celllings and... More

My only good comment about this hotel is that the girl on reception was extremely pleasant and helpful and I am sure if she had a vacant room she could have moved us into she would have. The room which was out in an annexe was very damp, the musty smell was so bad that we could not sleep and... More

I stayed at the Lavra Guesthouse for four nights in september 2013. The hotel is located in a traditional Lisbon house in a very quiet street in the Lavra neighbourhood.. In 3 minutes you can reach the Baixa with the nearby elevador do Lavra, it's a steep climb to get back to the hotel. The staff is really friendly and helpful.... More

This was my first time to Lisbon, Portugal and I am so happy that I chose to stay at Lavra Guesthouse. Miriam and Pedro are outstanding hosts and the hotel is just beautiful. It is located in the Baixa district and the views are spectacular. The room is simple and clean and has all of the amenities necessary to have... More

What a pity! In the internet we imagined a completely different hotel. It is not well located, there is no metro or bus station in the area and you need to walk 15 minutes downhill to reach Praça da Figueira where you have some options. The room is quite simple and there is no air conditioners (only fans). The pillow... More

The hotel was recommended by our friends - we chose it because of the location, the terrace and the style. The hotel is in a quiet street just in the centre, but somehow away from the tourists' beaten paths. The street has several very authentic restaurants and small shops. The old building is beautiful and nicely renovated, however would need... More
