We stayed recently for a long weekend. The hotel is clean and rooms basic but adequate. Bathrooms are small but functional. It is idealy situated in the Chiado district. Next door is the Cafe Bernard and on the other side is the Cafe Brasilia. Lobby staff were helpful and pleasant. Lots of good restaurants nearby. Metro access is just yards...

We ended up at the Borges having being bounced from the Americano, a lucky escape in itself I think. (Looking at other reviews it seems that the Americano has a habit of sending people elsewhere.)
The Borges is not an hotel but a pension. It is very well situated in the Chiado, with the metro station and two popular cafes...

This was a hotel with a very good location, very central and close to the metro. The rooms were small but clean. The drawbacks were the tiny space in the bathroom, and the completely lousy breafast. Some bread rolls that were eatable but the croissants were not freshly baked, the cheese was just piled and was tasteless. if you are...

The hotel itself is a little dated, but clean and comfortable. Our room, located towards the back of the...

Very well located, but a little dirty and few employees. Awful breakfast, and expensive considering the benefits. They are renovating, but...

Ask for a quiet room in advance if U want to have a good sleep. The hotel is bit "shabby", but it seems that they are upgrading in portions. While we were there one of the lifts are being repapered.
As many have mentioned the breakfast is minimal. As long as there are clean cups U'll get a good cup...

If you want to ruin part of your vacations, this is a perfect place. Old beds, blankets with more of 30 years of use, small and old towels and a 70"s TV set. In the morning, my husband and I went to have the breakfast - what a deception: artificial orange juice, terrible bread, coffe and milk. We left the...
