A sound sleep, great breakfast, helpful and attentive staff. Everything you need to have a great start and end to your days in this lovely city. The location is great but it's the people, Luis, Christina and other staff members who set the scene; helpful ideas, information and much more. The comfortable and pleasant sitting areas and the well stocked... More

Being repeat visitors a few times each year to this enchanting old world city, it never crosses our mind to stay anywhere else than with Zuzabed. The locations are central and having the convenience of walking to all the shops, restaurants, sights, metro etc can spoil any traveler! We enjoy the warmth exuding from the Zuza staff and the upbeat... More

We stayed 8 days end of march 2015 at this b&b. It is a old house, Luiz grandmother's house. On tw floors 3 bedrooms which share one bathroom. It was never a problem to get into the bathroom. Each room lovely furniture. Even the books you find in your room match your interest. Great breakfast in a central room with... More

We had a great Castle view from the deck off our room and the hosts were wonderful. We also enjoyed visiting with the other guests over a delicious breakfast. Would highly recomment Zuza Bed to anyone travelling through Lisbon. We found 3 days to be the perfect amount of time to spend in this city. Book early, we only got... More

We stayed in one of the 2 terrace rooms at the B&B for 3 nights and it was perfect! The best part of staying here is the incredible amount of great local information you get from Luis and Cristina (you even get an app for your phone and a local phone in case you need it). From the moment we... More

This is my third stay with the wonderful Zuza team - twice at the B&B and once at the Suites. Every visit has been wonderful. And that's precisely what staying there is like, visiting with a friend. Luis and team are fun, friendly, knowledgeable, and above all, welcoming. I stayed in the terrace room, with the castle view. I was... More

I’ve said that clearly in the past. About yours dear Akip… I really don’t know the meaning and what’s behind the AKIP but knowing you as I... More

This was our second stay with Luis’s team, our first stay was in the Chiado apartment which was excellent. This time we stayed in one of the terrace rooms in the B&B which is a very different style and standard of accommodation. ‘Perfect’ is the word for this charming place. Located amidst the nightlife scene of Lisbon historic center and yet one can find peace in this noiseless and beautiful guest ‘home’. Amazing! From the well-done scrambled eggs to the fresh fruit smoothie – all served with a warm smile –, the breakfast is really delicious. Besides it is not everyday you... More

Staying in Chiado & Carmo

Neighborhood Profile
Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally, "squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used to. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of Lisbon from the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Carmo Convent, for example. A commercial neighborhood at its core, especially for its Garrett and Carmo streets, Chiado is to this day a mandatory visit in Lisbon.
