Modern hotel built to replace a hotel with great heritage. Despite being modern, the decor is rather old-fashioned. The hotel's location is quite a bit away from the old town and the main historical sites. The need to queue for breakfast is rather annoying - this is mainly due to not enough staff for clearing previously occupied tables. More

We liked the situation of the hotel. Rooms are clean and comfortable. We found the decoration was a little bit old fashion but correct. Bathroom was pretty modern. People at reception were nice and friendly. Not too noisy. A correct place to stay, though ain't the best in this world !..but we would return there in the future! More

Great location, right next to subway. Excellent breakfast, really incredible. Nice staff. The bedroom was a bit small for a 4 star, but anyway we had a very pleasant stay. The mattress was hard, as they all are in Portugal! More

After a couple of years we returned to the Aviz for a weekend. The service is still very good. The breakfast needed a bit more selection on the warm side, but otherwise great. It is still a pleasure to have a walk in the history of the hotel and just relax in the dinning room. More
