The hotel is very centrally located at the Rossio square. This also means that it is noisy at night and some homeless people are hanging out in the street next to the hotel. I needed ear plugs to sleep at night. The rooms are very basic but clean. It is a two star hotel. 'Breakfast' is terrible, bread rolls, some... More

Very basic , for Australian tourists I would say it was a 2 star rating rather than a 3. Very small rooms , hotel needs major refurbishment and staff need training in some professional skills. Would not book there again.

Great location very close to the main square, transport, and tourist attractions in the older side of Lisbon. This hotel is very basic. You'll get a bed, TV and air con. The room was small with an angled ceiling which made it hard to get to corners of the room. The ceiling in the bathroom was also angled which made... More

Stayed there last May. Location was very good. Conveniently close to transports: Rossio train station, the trams, and the bus stops for the airport shuttle bus. There is a grocery a few doors away for your supplies. The hotel itself is a bit dated, the security card on our room needs a number of tries before it would work, the... More

Stayed for a week in March 2014. Good base to explore the city as it's right in the centre and close to all transport links. All the essential criteria were met - it was clean, secure and the bed was ok. You couldn't expect a lot more at the price.

Me and two friends (18-30) stayed here for a short holiday. Great location, spotless throughout, helpful staff at a bargain price. Very large room - will be returning for any Lisbon trip. Don't be put off by previous reviews, yes this isn't the Hilton etc. but you don't pay for it either.

The hotel is in a perfect location, close to the main square, train and metro station, shopping areas and supermarkets. Staff cleans the room every day and usually do a good job. And service staff are very nice. But other than that, the rooms are very small, really small bathroom, small shower, barely have space to move. There is noise... More

Lissabon is a great place to visit, that's why most hotels I looked for were fully booked. But I was not disappointed by Hotel Americano, the room was clean, every we found the room as proper as the first day, the stay was Always friendly and helpfull. That is what I prefer, you can get better I guess, but for... More
