Great for the price. Location is hilly and in the middle of the Alfama district. Not recommended if you intend to drive to and from the hotel on a daily basis. Alfama is a nightmare in which to navigate a car. Staff was courteous and professional. 10 Euro taxi ride to the airport. more

This hotel certainly lived up to the good reviews. The staff are very helpful and the rooms are very clean as is the hotel in general. Excellent hotel. Super location near the castle and well away from other tourist hotels. Numerous good local restaurants in the Alfama and over towards Graca. Strong legs needed for all the hills, but healthy appetites assured! more

My husband and I stayed at the Olissippo Castelo for a week around Christmas 2007 and had a wonderful time. The only drawback I can think of is that the hotel is located on top of a steep hill.
