This is a friendly and clean hotel perfectly located for the Castelo area. One piece of advice is to take good flat walking shoes as the surrounding streets are cobbled. Breakfast is very nice with ample choice and the plus side is that is stays open until 11am. No early finishes here! Our room was clean and overlooked the city... More

Near the castle, perfect location for a tourist, despite you have to walk a bit uphill to reach it. Excellent rooms and breakfast service. Our room had a lovely balcony with an incredible view on the city of Lisbona. Very happy about this hotel. I strongly recommend it.

This hotel was beautiful and fun located in the Alfama district of Lisbon. It is the highest point of Lisbon so be prepared to do some walking up and down. We loved the challenge. The castle was right behind our hotel and we had great views of Lisbon from our room. They upgraded us to a suite that was very... More

Excellent quiet hotel with very informative and helpful staff just what first time visitors to Lisbon need.Talk to them and they tell you how it is, the places worth going to and the ones to avoid. The hotel is situated high on the hill leading up to Castelo Sao George and is easily reached from the city centre by taxi,... More

We did quite a bit of research before booking this hotel as it was our first visit to Lisbon and we wanted to be in the older part of the city in a smaller hotel. The Olissippo Castelo ticked all the boxes and in reality was even better than expected, helped especially by the extremely friendly and knowledgeable reception staff... More

Small, beautifully relaxing hotel in the middle of the maze of alleyways and steps. we arrived to find out that we'd been upgraded to a superior room which had wonderful views across the city. The reception staff couldn't have been more helpful, with tips for eating and sightseeing. Self service breakfast was fantastic and really set us up for the... More

This is a small hotel of 25 rooms- so you are not one of a cast of thousands - and the helpful receptionists have the time and are only too happy to give recommendations on what to see and where to go. We went in January, arriving late evening and somewhat concerned to find the front door locked! This is... More

What I liked most about this property was the very quiet and charming location. Although it is quite hard to access on foot with luggage and the walk isn't the easiest, it's nestled on the foothills of Castelo São Jorge and it provides easy access to that attraction. The cab ride from the subway to the hotel was about 4... More

Small, hospitable hotel hidden beneath the castle grounds in Lisbon's characterful Alfama district. Worth upgrading to a superior room for a spacious balcony with lovely views. Easy walk into city centre - but some steep hills and highly polished cobbles, so choose your footwear wisely. Tuk-tuks and trams readily available if you can't manage the hills!

Lovely! In the old part of the city with narrow, rambling streets. Yes, some areas are rather run down and there is graffiti but this is a big city with many facets and plenty of character. We loved it! We were here over our wedding anniversary and were given a wonderful welcome and upgraded to a large suite with magnificent... More
