What I liked most about this property was the very quiet and charming location. Although it is quite hard to access on foot with luggage and the walk isn't the easiest, it's nestled on the foothills of Castelo São Jorge and it provides easy access to that attraction. The cab ride from the subway to the hotel was about 4... More

Small, hospitable hotel hidden beneath the castle grounds in Lisbon's characterful Alfama district. Worth upgrading to a superior room for a spacious balcony with lovely views. Easy walk into city centre - but some steep hills and highly polished cobbles, so choose your footwear wisely. Tuk-tuks and trams readily available if you can't manage the hills!

Lovely! In the old part of the city with narrow, rambling streets. Yes, some areas are rather run down and there is graffiti but this is a big city with many facets and plenty of character. We loved it! We were here over our wedding anniversary and were given a wonderful welcome and upgraded to a large suite with magnificent... More

Older property located on a hillside overlooking the city. Easy walk to the water, restaurants and favorite sites. Breakfast included is rather humdrum. Parking would be a problem if you have a vehicle. Friendly attentive staff. Room was quiet and comfortable.

Perfectly situated within easy walking distance of Alfama with its winding lanes littered with restaurants and photo-opportunities at every turn. We arrived on June 12 which is Lisbon's craziest night as they celebrate the feast of St Anthony. Because of this, our shuttle from the airport could not drive directly to our hotel. However, the driver parked up and took... More

This hotel was beautiful. It was right beside the Castle and had a view over Lisbon. Our room was beautiful and reasonable for the price. It was a bit difficult to drive to because of the steep and narrow roads but it had an indoor parking garage if you reserve ahead of time. I would recommend this place and stay... More

Full marks on all aspects of this hotel. Staff welcoming, rooms beautiful, comfortable and luxurious, spacious, great view, only location gets less than full marks because some people wouldn't like it being out of the centre and up a hill. But the plus for this is the view and also the quiet, no question of being woken by traffic noise.... More

I stayed at the hotel one night and it was rather far from Lisbon Centre. VERY strange area with a lot of seasonal workers, beggars etc.... Rooms are really great though - mine was with a huge terrace and astonishing view on the red roofs of Lisbon/ The hotel receptionist recommended me one local restaurant that was rather good -...
