We stayed here for 5 days and the location was great to get away from the main crowds. Hotel staff were very pleasant and welcoming. Breakfast was served until 12 noon which is great for us as late starters! Lovely courtyard with noisy Peacocks but this was a very unique experience. Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a little... More

Got upgraded to this hotel due an overbooking elsewhere. Amazing location. Taxi ride was a real experience. Exquisite interior. Good service. Lovely room. Steep walk to get anywhere but well worth it.

I stayed here for a weekend having booked through work so thought I knew what to expect, but yet we were still blown away by the beauty of the place the minute the huge doors opened and we stepped inside. The staff all so attentive and the breakfast fresh & varied. The hotel is so well designed into the castle... More

Lovely location despite the climb up the hill each night, although there are always buses and taxis available. Hotel had a very calming feeling as very few staff rushing around, but very helpful when needed. Great being able to sit outside in the peaceful courtyard for breakfasts. Would definitely stay again.

with surrounding moorish castle and peacocks wondering around, in the charming narrow streets of Alfama, this is a wonderful hotel. Nearby Fado places. The service is excellent. I will be happy to stay in this hotel again.

lovely people, lovely interiors, great breakfast. I dont think any more needs to be said but tripadvisor informs me otherwise - 200 minimum so I have to keep on typing until that number is reached or it isn't accepted - just gone over!

Perfect little oasis hidden up the cobbled streets at the top of the hill, the hotel is part of a former palace backing onto the castle walls. The hotel's finish is to a very high standard and a beautiful mix of old & modern. We stayed in room 2, overlooking the castle grounds and it was surprisingly quiet - the... More

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst exploring Lisbon. The hotel was fantastic, lovely architecture, friendly staff, great rooms and a good breakfast. All in all made for a brilliant stay, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for something a bit different in Lisbon.

We stayed in room #8, overlooking the narrow cobblestone street. The room was perfect! So much charm, with the high wood ceiling and exposed beams. It was really a very romantic room. There is plenty of closet space, great wifi connection, and everything you need- including a lovely decanter of port wine with 2 glasses waiting! There was also a... More

The Location: Sited along the exterior wall of Castelo Sao Jorge (former Moorish castle), and located in one of the most traditional and vibrant Portuguese neighbourhoods in Lisboa; Solar do Castelo is about as ideal a location as you'll find in Lisboa. Its mix of romantic 17th century style and modern conveniences make it an ideal hotel for couples. The... More
