Had a blast here. Louis and Christina were incredibly welcoming and knowledgable about Lisbon and all it had to offer. Will definitely come back next time I am in Lisbon. Highly recommend staying here. In the perfect location for delicious food and a fun night out.

Absolutely, amazing and fantastic location, for shopping and myriad restaurants to choose from. Luis and Christina are great hosts, very friendly and full of information. They really make your stay comfortable. Rooms are clean and basic amenities included. Their wifi connection is pretty good too. I highly recommend this place.

ZUZA Guesthouse is the best place to be in Lisbon: very helpfull and kind people who really love to give you tips for the best places to go in Lisbon. The location of the Guesthouse (and also the B&B and apartments of ZUZA) is perfectly centrated in the old center of Lisbon! Beautifull city, beautifull place to stay, top team... More

We had a great stay at Zuza Guest House! Luis and his staff are so lovely and helpful. They take a sincere interest in their guests and in helping them to find their way around Lisbon. Luis' app is also an excellent resource for finding everything in Lisbon. If you don't have time to download the app before you arrive,... More

Wonderful stay in heart of Chiado district. Hosts most helpful; every morning over delicious breakfast inquired how they can help plan our day. Directions and guidance invaluable. Clean, friendly, comfortable. Most welcoming. Since this is a very active neighborhood, the streets are noisy late at night. They provide a mobile app that is updated daily as to sites/activities in Lisbon... More

If we were to use every superlative word in the English language we still wouldn’t be saying enough great things about Luis and all the staff at ZUZA Guest House. From our initial booking to our final day they were nothing short of amazing. They did everything in their power to make sure our stay in Lisbon would be unforgettable.... More

We stayed here for three days at the end of September and had a great time. The room was very nice and had touches we don't normally see at the price such as a safe and slippers and bathrobe for the shared bathrooms which was much appreciated. Our flight from Canada arrived early (also nice) and we arrived at the... More

I managed to make a wrong booking and we needed help to change it. We were very kindly helped out. We got very clear information where to find the place, everything was clear. The guest house is located in the middle of the city and even if it looks empty during the day, it is full with restaurants in the... More

Luis Zuzarte and his team are friendly and as helpful as you could wish. The location of the Guest House is perfect for 'access all areas' of Lisbon by foot or by rail. The Zuza App is truly fantastic, and well worth familiarising yourself with before you arrive in Lisbon. The personal phones appear to have been deleted from the... More

My husband and I stayed in the Zuza guesthouse for four nights in September. We were greeted upon arrival by Christina who had us comfortably situated in our room and gave us ideas of how to spend the day. Breakfast each morning was delightful - fresh fruit, yogurt, ham, cheese, eggs. Each morning either Luis or Christina gave us suggestions... More

Staying in Chiado & Carmo

Neighborhood Profile
Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally, "squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used to. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of Lisbon from the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Carmo Convent, for example. A commercial neighborhood at its core, especially for its Garrett and Carmo streets, Chiado is to this day a mandatory visit in Lisbon.
