This is a very very nice guest house. We recommend it to the ones that have heavy pockets - it is not for the common Portuguese tourist (180euros/night!!). We had a bit of a problem trying to book - neither the booking.com or casa balthasar website worked so we had to do it over the phone. Very quite and relaxed.... More

A lovely Hotel offering sparkingly clean spacious rooms, comfortable mattress, panoramic view of the castle, a relaxing terrace. A well stocked refrigerator, tasty coffee, and gracious staff add to the ambience to make this a superb site. The location is ideal for walking to major shopping sites.

Breakfast is served in your room and you can enjoy the tranquility and the view on the garden and the pool. If you are looking for places... More

We spent three nights in this wonderful small hotel. An oasis in a bustling city. Despite being in the middle city the hotel is quite and we had a peaceful relaxing time there. The hotel is right in the middle of the city and is close to the train, metro and tram stations. So it makes getting around easy. The... More

What a marvellous hotel! Casa Balthazar is one of the best city hotels I have ever visited. The location is just perfect; a couple of minutes form the nightlife and the restaurants in Bairro Alto, two minutes from the Rossio Station where the train for Sintra leave and just a short walk to Cais do Sodre where the trains for... We had a short stay at this small hotel due to delayed flights and only wish we had longer. The hotel is situated in a great location, however, it is in a small one way street so your taxi may only be able to take you to the end of the road. The hotel is actually more like a guest... More

My husband and I had a wonderful experience, staying at Casa Balthazar for two nights in July 2014. The property includes 12 rooms, 2 living rooms and a small lovely garden with small pool. The host was beyond accommodating of our wish to use the shared spaces for many hours after we had already checked out. It is a small... More

The Casa Balthazar is just amazing . We stayed in the Rossio terrace room and it was just perfect. A large spacious room with a beautiful view over the city, great location, wonderful fresh breakfasts on our own private balcony, privacy, swimming pool, parking on site all made our stay in Lisbon unforgettable. We highly recommend Casa Balthazar and would... More

Seriously, this place was ideal. The hotel photos actually look like what you see when you stay here. Rooms were clean with soft lush bedding. Tasteful art on walls. There was no noise. The location was walking distance from the busy shopping of Ruo Augusta and Rossio square, but on a quiet street near the Largo do Carmo, a tree... More
