My gf and I have been to Lisbon 5 times and stayed in hotels in the Baixa, Belem, and a different hotel in the Alfama. The Solar dos Mouros is our new favorite. Not only did our room (#2 - Suite River View) have a lovely view of the river, it was also incredibly spacious and well appointed. The price... More

Dear Guest, we are pleased to know that you enjoyed staying with us, our unique position in the city center and big rooms definitely distinguishing us from other hotels. The elevators are helpful to reach the hotel from down town.We apologize for the inconvenient of your door remained mistakenly unlocked. Looking forward to have you back soon in our hotel... More

My adult daughter and I spent three very enjoyable and comfortable nights at Solar dos Mouros, who provided a most welcome arrival gift of port and fresh fruit. The room was very spacious & well-furnished, and the quality of the bed was excellent. Although the view was facing houses and (higher up) the castle walls, rather than looking over the... More

This little hotel could not be better situated in Alfama, The historic area of Lisbon. It is only about a 3 minute Walk from here to the entrance of the castle. The Front Desk staff was very helpful. Just step of the door and start To wander through this charming area. Skip Tram 28 that you will Hear everyone tell... More

Loved this charming boutique hotel: great location (downtown Lisbon near Castle Sao Jorge, up few hills but accessible by car/taxi/walking whatever you choose!), amazing views over central Lisbon (we had room no. 12 and it was a wonder to wake up daily with clear blue skies natural light and bird-eye view of the city), comfy room equipped with all you... Booked three months in advance we were not advised at anytime, not even on arrival, that our River View Suite would have scaffolding occluding the lovely view, or that there would be no heating. The night time temperature was 9°C, nothing was offered until we questioned it and an oil filled electric radiator was provided which slowly heated the room,... More

Dear guest, thank you for your contribution, although in reality it wasn't as dramatic as you tried to make it look. We think you'll agree to the fact that you complained about Lisbon and Portugal in general saying that it's not as hot as Brazil - that's a fact we can't deny. Portuguese climate is different, for sure. The scaffolding... More

Cool boutique hotel. We had a two level room that did have a view . The breakfast was basic but a good start to the day. Located near elevator to the lower town and with a supermarket at the bottom of the elevator. Good restaurants very close ask the guy at the front desk Clive I think was his name.... More

Hello and thank you for taking the time to write a comment. We are glad you enjoyed the Duplex Suite, Room N3. We're sure that after the scheduled renovation this month it'll look even better! The view of Lisbon will remain the same though, but equally breathtaking. The guy's name is Cyril and yes, he can help our guests with... More

We stayed at the Solar dos Mouros for 3 nights, in the suite in the top floor with the terrace, and it was very good for our needs. First of all, the location. It's right below one of the main tourist attractions, Castelo de São Jorge, and only about 5 min walking distance from the Baixa. The hotel is a... More

We stayed 2 nights at the hotel which is relatively small but located perfectly for exploring Lisbon. I would say the hotel is more conducive to adults than children and if you are not able-bodied its a steep walk up the hill from the centre of the city. We stayed in a room with our 8 year old son who... More

We had the big two-story room. It's more like renting a tiny loft home of your coolest, most eccentric uncle versus a hotel room. Ancient building, small windows with great views. Fabulous, crazy artwork everywhere. A cool rocking chair. Quiet area after dark, but walking distance to other restaurants and bars. Be warned that it has a small spiral staircase... More
