Booked three months in advance we were not advised at anytime, not even on arrival, that our River View Suite would have scaffolding occluding the lovely view, or that there would be no heating. The night time temperature was 9°C, nothing was offered until we questioned it and an oil filled electric radiator was provided which slowly heated the room,... More

Cool boutique hotel. We had a two level room that did have a view . The breakfast was basic but a good start to the day. Located near elevator to the lower town and with a supermarket at the bottom of the elevator. Good restaurants very close ask the guy at the front desk Clive I think was his name.... More

Hello and thank you for taking the time to write a comment. We are glad you enjoyed the Duplex Suite, Room N3. We're sure that after the scheduled renovation this month it'll look even better! The view of Lisbon will remain the same though, but equally breathtaking. The guy's name is Cyril and yes, he can help our guests with... More

We stayed at the Solar dos Mouros for 3 nights, in the suite in the top floor with the terrace, and it was very good for our needs. First of all, the location. It's right below one of the main tourist attractions, Castelo de São Jorge, and only about 5 min walking distance from the Baixa. The hotel is a... More

Hello and thank you very much for your kind comment. It's always great when our customers notice all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes to keep the hotel on the level and also the dedication of our staff. We'll be very happy to see you once again at our small hotel. More

We stayed 2 nights at the hotel which is relatively small but located perfectly for exploring Lisbon. I would say the hotel is more conducive to adults than children and if you are not able-bodied its a steep walk up the hill from the centre of the city. We stayed in a room with our 8 year old son who... More

We had the big two-story room. It's more like renting a tiny loft home of your coolest, most eccentric uncle versus a hotel room. Ancient building, small windows with great views. Fabulous, crazy artwork everywhere. A cool rocking chair. Quiet area after dark, but walking distance to other restaurants and bars. Be warned that it has a small spiral staircase... More

A good hotel in a great location near the castle. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the buffet breakfast was excellent. The room was comfortable with great views across the rooftops. We enjoyed exploring the surrounding steep hilly streets, and found several good restaurants nearby.

I lived in Lisbon for two years, and I think this is the best hotel for its value one could find in a nice part of the city. Just steps from the Castle Sao Jorge entrance and down the block from the most beautiful miradouro in the city (overlook with a plaza and outdoor terrace restaurant/bar) the location is excellent,... Lovely little hotel very close the the castle. Super friendly staff, very clean and an spacious room (suite 6). The room decor was very cool, lovely original art and very well though out. Breakfast was very good, buffet style, but a lovely selection. The hotel is near the top of a hill but that just makes the views even better.... More

Great room, great breakfast, great hosts. The staff at the hotel are great, and always ready, willing and able to help with advice about where to go and what to do. On the last night there the owner/manager got us a great table at a fantastic restaurant he frequents and is little known to other than locals--had the best meal... More

Nice little hotel in charming and central part of lisbon. Hotel's atmosphere and decoration may not be as nice and refined as the impression given in the hotel's pictures, pity as upgrading some of the basic furnitures and paints could have made a real difference given the settings and location. Room size as announced seems to a large extend overestimated..Decoration... More

Hello and thank your for your comment. Please note all the art at the hotel is original modern art and not copies, as you'll find in most cases. We have different decoration and style in every room, so forming your opinion based on one photograph on the internet is a bit tricky, and our idea of the hotel concept is... More
