I would strongly advise against staying at this hotel. Whist this hotel is slightly cheaper then others that are more centrally located the slight reduction in price in no way compensates guests for the extreme bad repair of this hotel. The hotel is situated in a quite back street that is neither close to the business or entertainment district. Therefore... more

Depending on your reasons for going to Lisbon, you may get what you want, but firstly however, you need to find somewhere to stay. Unfortunately, one of my colleagues who shall remain nameless booked our hotel without consulting TripAdvisor first! I can honestly say that this is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. Location: Well, its... more

If you are considering this hotel - DONT. Pay the extra and stay somewhere closer to town which is not falling apart. This hotel is about 30 years overdue for a refit with terrible plumbing, cracked broken tiles worn out dirty carpets and a pool which is more like a large bath placed on a raised shed! The rooms are... more

Everything was ok. The rooms weren't fab, smallish, but clean and ok, little balcony. The location was ok... quite a long walk to everything, but not tooooo far. Swimming pool very small in a rather uninspiring setting. Staff were ok. Bar mostly not open, even in mid august, and didnt stick to its posted hours, but - like I say,... more

I was very pleasently surprised by the hotel upon arrival. It was only a short drive from the airport costing approximatly 12 euros by taxi and in a good general location. Close to many resturants, public transport and attractions. It was well presented, clean and welcoming. There were many leaflets, guides and maps available in the lobby for travellers. The... more

The Amazonia Lisbon is a fairly large hotel. On the plus side it is quite well located - near the Marquis de Pombal statue, and metro, and several restaurants. The upper rooms have good views of the harbour, and the room was clean. The less good points were that the public areas seemed a bit grubby and run down -... more

With rooms on £40 special offer this hotel provided excellent value. Towards the north of the city centre but walkable. Close (5 min) to the Rato tube. A 15min uphill walk (or one tube stop) from the Marques de Pombal where the Aerobus stops. Staff spoke English and were polite. Cleaners were a bit eager, trying to enter my room... more

I stayed here recently for 3 nights...the room has bed bugs and it had a bad smell!! However, it is a good location. There is a big shopping centre nearby...its open til 11pm. The reception staff were very helpful. So it really depends on what is important to you. The room wasnt great at all...small and dingy. On the upside... more

Hotel is comfortable and has all you need but is in need of a full re-fit. Lots of places to eat nearby. A 10 minute walk North West of hotel is a huge shopping centre called Amoreiras, which has fast food or traditional restaurants and a great supermarket. If you turn right out of hotel, then left there is a... more

We spent 3 nights here over Easter 2006. Very easy to get to - 15 minutes from the airport and handily located for the city centre - an enjoyable 25 minute walk or a short metro ride (or a longer but more fun tram ride). Staff could not have been more helpful and bar staff in particular were fun and... more
