The main thing that I did not like is the area. Lisbon is all about hills and valleys and is big with a great expansion of concrete statements (Salazar period) which are know looking rough. Walking down to the old town is couple or three miles and the road system is complicated. Walking back is no fun. The staff are... more

We could not sleep at night because the air-con was too noisy. We turned it off but the noise was still there. We realised the AC from all the other rooms were on and the noise was unbearable. The swimming pool is really small, a large bath-tube, and often there was not enough space for everyone. The rooms were poorly... more

Well located, walkig distance to Rato metro station(5 min), Marquês de pombal (10min) and Bairro Alto (20min). The rooms are clean and spacious for a 3 star hotel, try to get a room with balcony and a view to the Castelo de S. jorge. Friendly staff. Good value for money more

Amazonia Lisboa is located near two Metro stations: Rato and Marques Pombal. Both are within walking distance but Rato is closer (but uphill). The scenic #28 trolley stops near Rato station and will take you to the neighborhood Bairro Alto, downtown or Baixa Chiado, and neighborhood Alfama and the Se Catherdral or Clube de Fado (fado music). We didn't use... more

We really enjoyed our stay at the Amazonia Lisboa. It's a bit of a hike from the action farther into the city. WEAR GOOD SHOES!!! Other than that, there are plenty of restaurants and Pastelarias in the area. The staff is very friendly and helpful! It's perfect for the average traveler just don't expect a lot of amenities. more

We stayed from the 26th Dec to the 31st and booked a package deal of Hotel and Flights and reading the reviews and thought we would get what we paid for but I think we got more... Once we arrived we were quite surprised. Nothing flash but the typical hotel lobby, the room was your standard twins pushed together, mini... more

This was the worst holiday I ever had. During THE FIRST 10 MINUTES I left the room to check the reception the cleaning staff took 200.00 EUROS out of my wallet. Evidence: the machine they checked who had entered the room declared that the cleaning staff had entered my room while they already HAD CLEANED MY ROOM. We never saw... more

After reading many of the previous reviews I would agree with many comments: the hotel is only 15 minutes brisk walk to Bairro Alto passing many cafes along the way so it's location is good as it is both near to everything yet far enough away to be quiet. The pool is tiny - just a plunge pool really, but... more

I stay three (3) nights at the Amazonia Lisboa Hotel in March of 2008. I paid 40 Euro nightly. The staff is friendly and helpful. The accommodations are basic but clean and comfortable. The hotel is located in a quite neighborhood that is close to bus lines and the metro. The hotel is easily reached from the airport by taking... more
