Hotel Amazonia came to our attention via booking.com. The description of the hotel made it seem like that the hotel was very central in Lisbon, and they have a swimming pool. For us this was ideal since we did not want to spend much time in traveling to the beaches and the centre of Lisbon. Well, it's a complete false... More

I have been going regularly to the Amazónia Hotel Lisboa for the past 7 years and I would not consider staying at any other hotel. There are more luxurious hotels but luxury is not the most important thing for me. The hotel is well situated in a quiet street, but the thing that makes the Amazónia special for me is... More

Cheap, well located, simple. Changed rooms from front side (very noisy) to back side (view on harbour and quiet). When you will be out of the hotel most of the time, it's a good option because of the central location, many restaurants and bars and public transport nearby.

I've stayed at the Amazónia 39 times over the past 12 years, often for two weeks at a time, and would never consider staying anywhere else in Lisbon. True, it's not a luxury hotel. But it offers outstanding value for money. The staff are warm and welcoming quite without exception, and many have been there in all the years that... More

Me and my boyfriend just spent 6 days at the Amazonia Hotel. First of all, the location is awesome. The bus and subway are in a very short walking distance in Marques de Pombal. Also, Bairo Alto and the down town of Lisbon are in a walking distance (20 minutes). Second of all, after reading all the reviews we were... More

There is one receptionist and she should definitely be fired! Generally speaking, I tend to avoid asking staff questions when I am on holidays as much as possible unless absolutely necessary. I try to find out information myself. However, the few times I asked this girl for information or overheard her responses to other guests I was disgusted at her... More

Best receptionists ever, but overall it was an average hotel... All the receptionists were so informative and very helpful, they never let us down day and night were there to help us...However, rooms had poor conditions, very small and too hot, no AC. We just LOVED the staff of the hotel, the cleaning team were very nice and very appropriate... More

This hotel is ageing somewhat and is in dire need of some TLC. it would seem that maintenance has lost out to cost saving. A broken shower head in our room, which had not been repaired for some time. Admittedly it was replaced when mentioned. We requested a room with an walk-in shower and were given a disabled room with... More

Room was alright and did the job however the 'double bed' was just two twin beds pushed together. Good selection at breakfast and staff were very friendly but it can get very noisy if people are in the corridor outside your room, maybe not the best for a light sleeper.

Stayed here for six nights in May 2014 and it was quite OK if you do not plan to stay in the hotel for other than sleeping. The hotel fee did not include breakfast and buing that in the hotel was so expensive so it is better to go to a local cafe. The hotel is located a bit faar... More
