There are certainly mixed reviews on this hotel but having stayed recently for 3 nights with friends we all had a great time. Check in was quick and friendly as was the check out. A Very polite & welcoming reception team. So the hotel is old and yes some areas need a bit of TLC. But I was there to... More

Having read the reviews before I went and those I've now seen today, I think we all stayed at a different hotel. I was definitely not looking forward to going expecting it to be dirty, poorly managed and noisy. How wrong. I agree the interior of the rooms could do with sprucing up but as someone who has stayed in... More

Is not close to the center of Lisbon and you need to walk about 30 minutes on foot. The room is typical, the breakfast is typical again. If you want internet I would say you to not pay cause you will not have good signal. So the hotel is only for sleep and go out to discover the Lisbon which... More

My partner and I stayed at his hotel for 3 nights in September. We paid for a double room with breakfast. Firstly we checked in late on the Friday evening and were given a twin room not double and when we said we would like to change we got told there was nothing available and that we would have to... What should have been a fairly good stay was rather ruined by a lack of care for customers. The Amazonia did however live up to its name - there was a swamp out back. Unfortunately we expected a pool. On letting the two members of staff know about the green pond we were subjected to a parrot display. They only... More

If you seek a worndown hotel with a pool filled with green turbid water (because of negligence - so whatch out for your health) and a staff at the reception that is absolutely not concerned with your stay you should go there. If you need chaos at the hotels breakfast buffet you should go there. But be prepared: If you... More

Hotel Amazonia came to our attention via booking.com. The description of the hotel made it seem like that the hotel was very central in Lisbon, and they have a swimming pool. For us this was ideal since we did not want to spend much time in traveling to the beaches and the centre of Lisbon. Well, it's a complete false... More

I have been going regularly to the Amazónia Hotel Lisboa for the past 7 years and I would not consider staying at any other hotel. There are more luxurious hotels but luxury is not the most important thing for me. The hotel is well situated in a quiet street, but the thing that makes the Amazónia special for me is... More

Cheap, well located, simple. Changed rooms from front side (very noisy) to back side (view on harbour and quiet). When you will be out of the hotel most of the time, it's a good option because of the central location, many restaurants and bars and public transport nearby.

I've stayed at the Amazónia 39 times over the past 12 years, often for two weeks at a time, and would never consider staying anywhere else in Lisbon. True, it's not a luxury hotel. But it offers outstanding value for money. The staff are warm and welcoming quite without exception, and many have been there in all the years that... More
