I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights recently. The first night I was in a room at the back and had trouble sleeping due to traffic and the bins being emptied in the middle of the night. I requested a room change and they put me at the front of the hotel overlooking the beautiful square and park (see... More

We had booked this hotel for a 2-night stay in Lisbon. After exploring Lisbon for the day we got back to the hotel late to head to bed and there were bugs all over both beds, inside the sheets, and in the curtains. We got help from the front desk and asked for our room to be switched. We were... More

I recently booked 2 nights at this hotel and upon arrival, everything seemed great. We left our bags in the room and went to explore the city. Once we returned to our room after dinner, we noticed worms all over the beds (on top of the covers, in the pillows, and under the sheets). In addition to the worms, there... More

Perfectly situated on a quiet street across from a park with historic sights within walking distance. Friendly helpful staff. Basic but clean rooms, well worth the reasonable cost. Breakfast not included in price but well worth the extra 5.50 per person.

the bed was hard and the pillows too, and noisy with other guests coming in on the wooden floorboards, I thought if the breakfast is OK then it will redeem itself but they charged me 5.5 euros for a cup of coffee and a couple of rolls. Disgracefully overpriced.

Returned for another short stay, but initial positives confirmed with different room and different staff. The room was nearly a suite having two large beds and a separate room plus apparently newly fitted out bathroom. Obviously urban strret view given location, but handy for lunch house up a block and mini market for those essentaials plus the lovely Praca Alegria... More

The rooms are basic but very clean. The ones that have a window on the Praça da Alegria have a nice view, but are a bit noisy because of traffic. It rained a lot and litres of water were flowing down from the balcony on top of ours, to ours, which made quite a lot of noise. Rainwater evacuation could... More

I stayed at Residencial Alegria in a double room with my mom for 3 nights. It was a great location, the staff were very helpful, and the room was absolutely quiet at night when the window was closed. Highly recommended for a simple but good room for a stay in Lisbon.

Stayed three nights with a buddy while touring Lisbon. One block from the Avenida metro station (red line), four blocks from the main Rossio train station (to Sintra) . Walking distance to the Baixa and the Barrio Alto. Rooms are real basic, good beds, bath/towels OK, tasty breakfast, priced accordingly; solid two star hotel. I would stay again.

We often need an overnight stay for an early flight so tried this one for a change. We were very impressed with the room, the view, size of room and the bathroom. Wake up call was bang on time and the taxi prompt, courteous and reasonable. You wont find a better place in Lisbon at the price. The location is... More
