This is a great little place in a central location. The bed was very comfortable and the welcome warm. If you're a light sleeper you'll probably notice the traffic in the square. The breakfast was excellent. Much better than many big hotels. There is no lift. I was on the 2nd floor which was fine. A 4th floor room with... More

Plan on climbing steps as the reception is on the second floor and the rooms are above that with no elevator. However the suites are spotlessly clean and serviceable. Not luxurious by any means but a good value in a good location with a good breakfast offering.

Simple, basic but an excellent location just on one of the main squares. We had a double room with private bathroom including breakfast for three nights for 174 euro. The room was compact but quite adequate and cleaned every day with fresh towels. The bathroom had a hairdryer. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The metro was on the next... More

Cosy rooms, very engaging service, great location for visiting old part of Lisbon. Minutes of walk to main city attractions (Alfama, Chiado). Next to metro station. Close to Rossio train station - if you'd like to go to Sintra or Cabo da Roca.

This place is conveniently located in an area that has tourist attractions, shops, and nice restaurants all around within walking distance. We rented the suite which had an amazing view overlooking the busy Figueira square and the St. Jeorge Castle The hotel offers a complimentary breakfast which has a large variety of food to start your day. Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighborhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
