Clean and basic rooms, friendly and helpfull staff and a central yet quite location. They even provide your hot water for the evening tea, a good place to stay a few days in Lisbon even in cold January.

I was staying this hotel with my big family. We order 3 Rooms 3 Nights. It was summer, and one of the room its air conditioner is broken. At first day, we inform the staff to fix it, because my parent is old and they can't bear summer heat and need a lot rest because we came from Indonesia. At... More

This is a basic hotel--no frills, but a lot of value for the price. It is the best budget lodging in Lisbon. It is safe, clean, tidy, professionally and efficiently run, and family owned and operated. Internet access is available only on the ground floor (small lobby and dining room), but that allows for a little interaction among fellow travelers.... More

Just a brief update from me to confirm, since my last review, that I have stayed a further twice at Pensao Residencial Portuense, in March and May 2014. On both occasions I have been well pleased with my stay, the value and facilities offered, and the warmth with which I was received. An excellent budget-oriented choice. My next visit to... More

This place is run by people who clearly care about their guests. It is spotless and well-kept. We had a bit of trouble with the air conditioner and toilet, but these were seen to very promptly. The hotel is centrally located, but the room was quiet. For a budget hotel this is very good value. My only quibbles about this... More

We stayed in this Hotel at the end of June for four days. We were at the end of a month long trip and anxious to get home so my review may be somewhat coloured. Typically, we stay in three stars, and I do recognize that it is a budget hotel centrally located. First the negatives: 1) The breakfast is... More

We spent a couple of days in Lisbon while touring Portugal. The hotel is well located and walking distance to metro and big bus tours. Sits on a busy tourist street so we found it better to head away from there in search of good food. Hotel quite basic but clean and comfortable. Wifi is a bit dodgy in the... More

It is the second time I stay at this place. Their staff is the highlight, two brothers run the place and they are very friendly! The rooms are clean and confortable, the location is great if you want to stay in central area and the breakfast is ok. Great place to stay in Lisbon if you are looking for a... More

My wife and I just returned after 3 days in Lisbon. The location of the 'pension' is pretty central with easy access to the centre and very good street restaurants 3 minutes down the road. Overall the place was clean and not very noisy. The staff, I believe they were brothers and owners of the property, were very friendly and... More

Our party of three were looking for a place where we could stay for five nights without much ado. After all, we planned to be outside during the daytime, and part of the evening, and retreat at night. Honestly, we wanted to stay further down the street, in a place we had known because of repeated stays. Portuense was a... More
