A beautiful and quirky hotel in an ideal location of Rossio square. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made our stay very relaxing and enjoyable. We had a 'tribal' themed room (#205) which had a sheltered balcony overlooking the square and street below. The room was very clean and comfortable and the coffee maker was a lovely touch... More

Great location, friendly staff and clean hotel. Room was a little small but it was perfect for a good nights sleep. Restaurant was closed for the 3 days we stayed but im sure it would have been lovely!

My sister and I recently stayed for 3 nights at this hotel. It is in a fantastic location and great for sightseeing. The hotel itself is immaculate and the themed fragrances on each floor are a great touch! The staff were very friendly on reception when checking in and out and offered to carry bags, order taxis etc without asking.... More

I really liked staying at this hotel. Now if you've never stayed at an SLH property you may be taken back at how small the space is, but they sure know how to maximize it add all the luxury amenities you would expect in a 5* property. The attention to detail and level of service was excellent and the breakfast... More

Clean, convenient, perfect size, all amenities are there, delicious breakfast. It was a 5-star experience. Can't imagine what else may be needed. It was a great stay for me. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful not just to me, but to everyone as I saw them helping others. It was a great experience. I would stay here again, without... More

Excellent location, super friendly and efficient staff, unbelievable service. Room was very clean and the bathroom small but very nice. Their cleaners are top as well! Breakfast great and also their food in the restaurant.

What the hotel lacks in amenities it makes up for with style and décor. The rooms were clean and interesting, but on the small side. But on the other hand the location is superb. Public areas of the hotel are quite small (we missed the entrance first time we walked past!). The bar is crowded if there are more than... More

Fabulous location and very modern hotel in the heat of Lisbon. Walking distance to everything including shops, bars and restaurants. Quiet garden area to rest after a lo g day of touring. Staff was helpful and breakfast was great. Highly recommend.

The location of this hotel is in the center of Lisbon and is a great launching pad for going to see the sights. It's near a tram and metro stop (both a very quick 1-2 minute walk away), so it's convenient for getting to the rest of Lisbon and Belém as well. Our room included breakfast, which was very good... As everyone seems to mention, the location is excellent. We travelled by Metro from the airport, which took around half an hour and returned by taxi for approx. 10 euros which seemed very reasonable. The room (103) was facing outside on the first floor which has an ‘Urban’ theme and had views of both squares. The bed was big and... More

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighborhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
