The location is perfect. Exact In the center!!! The rooms were with terrible old worn old floor covering and furniture ! The sheets were clean. The towels were clean but old. The breakfast was poor and in most inappropriate place ! The stuff is perfect

So it's a great location for a hotel. Central. No hills. It's loud. REALLY OUTDATED. It's fairly secure. You have to come and go by leaving your key at the front desk. There's an elevator. The beds are old. The decor is old. The rooms are small with a filmsy lock on the door. The bathroom is a bathroom.

We stayed here for 4 nights. It's bang in the centre of the Baxia district of pedestrianised central Lisbon, Ideal location to visit all the main tourist highlights of the city. There are numerous bars, restaurants and shops right outside the front door. The hotel is a short walk from the main squares where the metro, buses and main train station... More

Stayed here in February 2015 with 5 other couples. We had a great time! Slight mix up upon check in with bookings as the receptionist had bad English but got resolved eventually. The decor is seriously old here, so don't expect much. The Wi-Fi works in the lobby/bar area only, and they will tell you that themselves. The bar says... More

Fantastic location right in the middle of Baixa and very easy to get to from the airport by metro. Extremely convenient for many of the sights, and for shops and restaurants. The staff were very helpful and effortlessly able to alternate from speaking perfect English, French, Italian and Spanish. The rooms (especially the bathrooms ) seem to be stuck in... More

The hotel is very close to 2 subway stations, several bus stops and also tramway. The region around the hotel has a lot of restaurants, shops and some places to visit. The commerce square is close, and it is a beautifull place to take some pics and look to the sea and the suspension bridge. However, you have to pay... More

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighborhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
