This little hotel is very clean, comfortable and situated in Central Lisbon, near Bairro Alto, Chiado, Alfama, Castelo, so it is strongly recommended. Workers are very nice ! Breakfast (included in my € 60.00 rate for 2 people) is very simple but this is not a problem as you eat very cheap and extremely well in Portugal, so you will... More

The location of Hotel is perfect. Next to the praça Rossio, and pedestrian Augusta Road. walking distance from the Aerobus (3,5 euros one way valid 24 hours on public transportation). Close to most of the places to visit in Bairo alto, Graça, Almada, and Belem accessible by Tram 15E. Our room was on the 4th floor, with 2 street side.... More

I stayed at the hotel for 3 days. It's pretty old and doesn't look that great, including the rooms. The elevator doesn't have an inner door so when you use it- you can touch the wall which is quite scarey in my opinion... Breakfast is lousy, since I only got to buns, butter and jam and the coffee was aweful.... More

Hotel is right in the middle of the shops and restaurants in the Baxia quarter of town, so couldn't be better situated. It is quite difficult to find, as there is a just a doorway which doesn't really look like an hotel - reception is on 2nd floor of the building. The room was large and spotlessly clean. The linen... Situated in the old downtown quarter. Old but well maintained. Carpet in the room could have been cleaner but for the rest adequate. Roomy closet. Friendly and helpful staff. More

I highly recommend this hotel for budget travellers who want something clean, comfortable, quiet and in a perfect location. It is not 5 star and doesn't claim to be but we spent 4 nights there and found it to be a wonderful base for exploring Lisbon. The staff were very helpful and managed to secure a good room for our... The 1970's decor at Albergaria Insulana is not "tired" but very unfashionable. Give it another 10 years and the place will have "period charm". For €59 per night you get a small but very clean room with ensuite bathroom in the absolute centre of Lisbon.. The surrounding streets are pedestrianised so are reasonably quiet once the restaurants close after 10.... More

Of the four hotels we stayed at while in Portugal, Albergaria Insulana was our least favorite. I will lay it out in terms of pro's and con's. PROS location, convenient to Baixa Chiado station, Rossio square, shopping, dining, etc. price was very affordable room with a small balcony CONS Reception is on the second floor so the initial feel you... Was there for two nights. 20 minutes by Taxi from airport, depending on traffic. Did not know what to expect after all the mixed reviews but I was pleasantly surprised. Maybe because I went with the mentality that I will not find anything special. Room was adequate. Not to small and not to big. Toilet was a bit awkward as... More

I had a pleasant stay in the hotel. It was adequate but not much more than that to be honest. I don't mind old fashioned style, in fact I quite like it which is why I booked. However, I think there are certainly some aspects of this hotel that need updating. Breakfast is one of them. It is very basic... More
