We had been staying in an apartment close by and, needing a hotel for our final night in Lisbon, walked in off the street to book a room. The Casa de Sao Mamede is a small, atmospheric hotel in an ideal location (minutes from the Rato metro station, and a short walk away from the Principle Real park). While short... More

The hotel is an old portuguese house at 3 minutes walk from the underground station of Rato or 15 minutes walk from Rossio station. The rooms are clean and quite big: our room had a baldacchino bed and a sofá and was quite silent as it si affacciava on a small street. The breakfast is fresh and of a good... More

The place was magnificent! It is a small, personal hotel in an old building full of original details. We are a group of 6 that were traveling to Lisbon for a work and stayed in Casa de S. Mamede for 5 nights. The hotel is well located near the historic city center (25 minutes walking distance) and 5 minutes walking... More

We were offered a choice of rooms upon arrival all of which were very nicely furnished. The reception staff were, without exception most helpful. Linen spotless, bed hard as nails but we slept fine. Breakfast room is very pleasant, the fare a little disappointing but perfectly adequate. The hotel is convenient for exploring Lisbon on foot. Good restaurants nearby. We'd... More

A thoroughly enjoyable stay, in a delightful residence in a charming area, slightly off the beaten track, but with handy transport links. We stayed for a couple of nights in room 6 and were impressed by the size of room and quality of furnishings and decor. Excellent value-for-money, although hotel services are limited, it suited us very well.

Spent 2 nights on new year day 2015, the hotel has an old style with carpets on the floor but the atmosphere is nice (just a bit noisy the air heating) an breakfast of acceptable quality. Conveniently located at walking distance from Chiado and Rato metro station.

We decided to visit Lisbon for two nights including New Years Eve. We looked at available hotels and chose this one for both location and price, it also had a good Trip Advisor rating. We arrived early but our room was ready for us, the room was spotless with high quality bedding and disposables. A nice touch were a couple... More

Nicely located hotel on a walking distance of the highlights in the old center of Lisbon. Nice romantic atmosphere in an old building with very friendly staff. The beds were too firm and breakfast was average. Wifi didn't work in our room (first floor)

I knew nothing about Lisbon when I planned our trip, so I was worried that this hotel was too good to be true when I saw it online. It was within our budget, fit our charm requirement, and seemed to be well located and easy to get to from the airport. When we got there I discovered all of the... More

This is a great B and B. Terrific location, lovely rooms, good value, nice staff service, but... They advertise WiFi, but it is EXTREMELY, spotty. Just keep that in mind when you are looking for a good place in Lisbon. We loved Casa de Sao Mamede, but were frustrated with this one issue. You can just go down the block... More
