Charming but no frills. We enjoyed our stay and the location and price couldn't have been better. Breakfast was decent, no dinner options within but with so many restaurants within walking distance, this was not an issue. I'd definitely stay again.

This place had such great reviews, I guess our expectations were a little higher. In an old mansion which had nice ambiance, the room's carpet was very dirty and the furniture hadn't seen any tlc for awhile. This was the most expensive place we had booked after being in Portugal for three weeks (another five to go) and we can't... More

The hotel is an ancient house and it looked sort of creepy at first sight when we arrived (it was already dark), but our room was very comfortable, and quite large too. The bed wasn't long enough, though, and our feet barely fit. The mattress was also hard (which was excellent for my girlfriend, but I don't like it that... More

Very charming boutique hotel in a fashionable old neighborhood of Lisbon. Stayed in one of the top floor suites - 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, 2 tv's - brandly and tastefully renovated.Amazing value for money! Definitely one of the best choices in Lisbon and gladly recommended.

This hotel is ok for a 3 star, but nothing special. Our room was large and looked as if it had been decorated recently, but the bed was hard and uncomfortable, the cushions smelt of B.O. and the room was showing some signs of wear (broken handle on wardrobe, bathroom door burnt by heater above it). Toiletries were also a... More

We had been staying in an apartment close by and, needing a hotel for our final night in Lisbon, walked in off the street to book a room. The Casa de Sao Mamede is a small, atmospheric hotel in an ideal location (minutes from the Rato metro station, and a short walk away from the Principle Real park). While short... More

The hotel is an old portuguese house at 3 minutes walk from the underground station of Rato or 15 minutes walk from Rossio station. The rooms are clean and quite big: our room had a baldacchino bed and a sofá and was quite silent as it si affacciava on a small street. The breakfast is fresh and of a good... More

The place was magnificent! It is a small, personal hotel in an old building full of original details. We are a group of 6 that were traveling to Lisbon for a work and stayed in Casa de S. Mamede for 5 nights. The hotel is well located near the historic city center (25 minutes walking distance) and 5 minutes walking... More

We were offered a choice of rooms upon arrival all of which were very nicely furnished. The reception staff were, without exception most helpful. Linen spotless, bed hard as nails but we slept fine. Breakfast room is very pleasant, the fare a little disappointing but perfectly adequate. The hotel is convenient for exploring Lisbon on foot. Good restaurants nearby. We'd... More

A thoroughly enjoyable stay, in a delightful residence in a charming area, slightly off the beaten track, but with handy transport links. We stayed for a couple of nights in room 6 and were impressed by the size of room and quality of furnishings and decor. Excellent value-for-money, although hotel services are limited, it suited us very well.
