Having stayed in this hotel for ten nights we have a good idea of all the positives and the negatives of this very decent place. Views are fantastic, we had rooms 31 and 32 with one of them having a balcony, much better that the terrace. Staff, especially Pedro in the bar upstairs and pretty much everybody working there helped... more

You feel like you are on top of the world at this hotel. The views are breathtaking, it's the tallest hill in town. Luckily we are walkers because this part of town is very hilly. Our room was excellent and had a balcony. The view at night is even more spectacular, the whole city is lit up. Would highly recommend... more

Just as written in the other reviews...the view is unbelievable - but get a room with a view or you will be very disappointed. The other reviewers whine a bit about the hill...I'm 42 and wear heels...it's not that bad. Plus, a taxi costs pennies compared to US or any other European capitals!! This hotel is truly a little gem, tucked away high on a hilltop. True, the interior of the room is plain but it's clean, simple and you cannot beat the view! I really loved this hotel.!!! From the outside and the lobby the hotel doesn't appear to be much. However, the views of the city from this hotel will quickly change your mind. This place has terrific views (most/all rooms have either terraces or balconies), comfortable, clean rooms, helpful staff and a nice location near the historic center of the city but in a quiet neighborhood. Highly recommended. more

My husband and I stayed here for two nights. The hotel is clean and the staff is helpful and friendly. The receptionist gave us a great recommendation for a true (non-tourist) Portugese Fado restaurant and made the reservation for us. There is a steep climb to the hotel but well worth the view at the top and from our room.... more
