Compared to other hotels in the centre of Lisbon I stayed in Botânico offered good, friendly service and comfort for the price on several occasions. Book well ahead, in the tourist season. Well located in the centre of Lisbon.

This hotel is, as other reviewers have noted, a little dated. However, we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful, offering us good advice when we asked. The room was adequate, with sufficient space, although the bed was rather hard and the pillows too small. The welcome drink was appreciated, and the location is extremely good -- walking... More

The hotel'a location is great, as it is a short walk away from the entertainment-packed Bairro Alto, shopping street Avenida da Liberdad, the metro, Rossio railway station etc. However, I was disappointed by their customer service and general demeanour. We arrived at the hotel around 11am but our room was ready well after 1pm, although the booking confirmation email had... More

Staff were very helpful, friendly and very welcoming. Location is very good with regards to the proximity to the City Centre of Lisbon. It took about 5 mins walk to Rossio Square (a little bit longer to walk back up hill). Lisbon has many hills and this hotel is near the top of one; having said this my father was... More

A little bit dated but for value for money and location this hotel would take some beating. Staff are very friendly. If you want to stay in the centre of Lisbon on a budget then this hotel is perfect.

Didn´t expect much and that was it. Worth price I wanted to pay for just passing the nights at with having all the rest elsewere. Location in the centre of the city is great, if you prefer narrower alleys a bit louder from early morning. What I really disliked was a feeling like someone had been smoking in my room... More

Welcoming but dated hotel. Courteous staff helpful at all times. Clean en suite but thick bedspreads and curtains, plus carpet in bedrooms attract dust and the smell of cigarette ash where the No Smoking rule has not been adhered to. Unfortunately this prompted asthma symptoms, which the hotel tried to allay through additional cleaning. However, it marred the holiday.

This hotel is very good for the price and it is in the center of Lisbon. You can walk just about anywhere. The staff is very friendly and helpful. As soon as we checked in they gave us a welcome drink which was a good port wine and they also gave us a map of Lisbon and circled places of... More

For what I paid, this hotel was very good. The location is almost perfect, the only thing that lets it down is the fact that it is on the top of the hill. It is right in the centre and you can walk almost everywhere! The rooms are basic (to be expected for a 3 star hotel, I guess), but... More

The hotel is one of the best valued I have stayed in. It was a great price for its location, right in the city centre and everything was walkable. The service at the hotel was excellent, as were the cleanliness of the basic but sufficient room. A real little Jem!
