As the last hotel on a 3 week southern Iberian trip, this place was a surprising charmer on every front. The different staff, from beginning to end during our short 2 day stay, were earnestly friendly and helpful. The room was designed in a boutique fashion, comfortable, and with a stunning view of Lisbon. The glass door allowed us to... more
We had an excellent 4 day stay at The Hotel Principe Real. Upon arrival the chap on reception was very welcoming and helpful, speaking very good English. He showed us to our room which was clean, very comfy and nicely decorated. The breakfast was far above average with a very good choice of breakfast food available. Add to that the... more
A group of us stayed at this hotel to celebrate the new year. The hotel is situtated in the Barrio Alto area of the city, very close to small restaurants and the main square. The hotel staff were very friendly and spoke excellent english. My room 502 was a very large suite with the bathroom having a separate bath and... more
We had booked to stay in a suite, but when we turned up they had over booked and had no room for us. The hotel staff were not apologetic, but keen to blame the management as "all hotels in Lisbon did this!". They were far too keen to make sure we left the hotel and went tot the alternative hotel... more
Upon arriving at the hotel, we were informed that there had been a problem with their reservation department and that they had no room for us. They appeared to have been aware of this for some time but had not contacted us to let me know. I had even contacted them to reserve parking after the booking and they confirmed... more
I was very pleased with the value and friendliness at Principe Real. It's a great location for sightseeing Lisbon - just a few minutes from the middle of both Baxia and Barrio Alto. Close to luxury hotels like the Sofitel and handy for the metro. Granted, people who can't handle a few hundred yards up a steep incline shoudl think... more
A lovely experience. The views from 501 on the top floor afford stunning views over the city. The balcony catches the afternoon sun. The suite of rooms is immaculately clean, the staff friendly and courteous. Breakfast is delightful and includes fresh rolls and cooked as well as cold food served at the table. If you are elderly you may find... more
The Principe Real has nice rooms with a modern design. The staff is very friendly and helpful, in particular the lady that was on duty at the reception when we arrived (the fourth star is due to her). The room was reasonably clean and in good shape. Numerous small restaurants and cafes are in short walking distance from the Principe... more
Recently stayed here and I was very happy with the service and accomodations. We checked in on a Friday and they had upgraded us from a double room to a top floor suite - no explanation why and of course we did not ask, but the views of the city and the castle were wonderful. Rooms were very modern and... more
