we went there for a weekend but we ended up staying two more nights. The hotel is charming and our room had a beautiful view. The breakfast was very complete and is served in a ellegant ambience. the only thing i have to point is that the internet service shuld be free in a hotel like this one more

I have stayed at the Avenida Palace repeatedly on business and pleasure over recent years. The location and accomodation are perfect and a reminder of more elegant days. Don't miss out on breakfast! Long may the Avenida Palace remain just as it is. more

Stayed for five nights to attend a conference and meetings. Could not be more satisfied with the Avenida Palace hotel. Excellent location right in the heart of the city. Staff were attentive and helpful and my room was spacious and very clean. Beds were extremely comfotable. The breakfast was as good as I've experienced with a wide variety of food... more

location literally could not be better for a tourist who is interested in seeing the city as a first time visitor. right near metro/bus stops and trains (for cascais/sintra). only somewhat upscale hotel w/i walking of baixa, barrio alta, belem, alfama, etc and was easy to have a rental car dropped off and parked right infront of hotel. i'm sure... more

There comes a point when old world charm stops being charming and starts being old. Hotel Avenida Palace has passed that point. The public spaces are beautiful and well kept. Much of the hotel is like a palace. The breakfast was great and location was excellent. But our room was very disappointing. It was shabby and worn. The bathroom had... more

The hotel lives up to its name, as the room we had had the highest ceiling I've ever seen. Very comfortable, well appointed updated late 19th century charm. The hotel is very well located, with lots to do and plenty of restaurants just outside the entrance. A couple of quirks: An elegant buffet breakfast featured undrinkable juices. There was also... more

Avenida Palace treats each guest like royalty. Service is impeccable. The decor is well preserved. Staying there is like stepping back in time at an affordable price. more

We stayed here as part of a 3 centre holiday, 6nts Albufeira, 4 nts Lisbon, 6 nts Alvor. The Avenida Palace has grand decor and a bit of the wow factor! Take time and effort to visit each floor as the decor is different on each landing. There is a nice bar and an opulent lounge area. The rooms have... more

Beautiful but faded, stylish hotel in a fantastic location - very central with shops & tourist sights all around. Great for evening as many restaurants within short (safe) stroll. Staff very helpful and attentive, desk good for general or tourist info. We visited to celebrate a birthday and requested nicest room available on booking form - hotel upgraded us to... more

We stayed in the Avenida Palace Hotel from 2nd - 5th May 2008. We thought overall the hotel was lovely, in the best location and we were delighted with our choice. The hotel itself is very grand and feels like a step back in time. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The location is fantastic, right in the town... more
