We stayed at the Hotel Metropole for a little over a week. In that time, we were always treated with such amazing deference and respect by the entire staff. Additionally, they gave so much helpful advice and tips on everything we were interested in doing. Anything we wanted to do, they made all the arrangements and were so happy to... More

We booked a room with a view of the square for four nights. There was some noise, but the dull traffic noise didn't bother us and any music stopped by 11pm which we felt was acceptable. The location is perfect as it's central so a lot is within walking distance. Staff are excellent, speaking good English so no language issues,... More

We have stayed at Hotel Metropole for 6 nights. Its location was superb, the room was moderate and breakfast was sufficient. The only thing bothered us was about its reception. Since we have an early flight we planned to take a taxi to the Airport and asked the receptionist to call a taxi in the following morning. He said that... More

Excellent location, close to shopping, restaurants and main attractions. Breakfast was ok, but helpful for saving time. Noise level was medium, typical city life. Room size good, safe available in the room.

This hotel location is about the best location you can get in Central Lisbon. It right on Praca do Rossio. The breakfast is marginal. The service is impeccable. Everything is great until you are there on a hot humid night. They advertise air conditioning but it is just a noisy fan blowing outside air. It is a dated place which... More

This is a lovely old hotel, but the important word there is "old" ... it has a shabby charm about it, and both myself and my travel companion loved staying there. The room was perfectly clean and the beds comfortable, it was spacious and had most of the amenities you'd expect. The hotel info in the room proudly advised that... More

We stayed here for four nights in july and enjoyed it alot. The hotel was a bit hard to find as the entrance is hidden behind some trees. The location is superb, near to bus stops, metro and trainstation. By staying here, you will save alot of money by not having to take a taxi. The hotel itself is a... More

this is an building more then 100 years old. located right on the rossio plaza, centre of lisbon. the receptionists are professional. the facilitis are not in good maintainance. the breakfast is average. you should go up stairs first and then you can get the elevator, even though you have big suitcase with you.

Nice folks at the desk but holes in upholstery, lumpy dusty pillows, old towels, grease stains on sofas, big cracks in wall and tile, sinks don't drain, toilets don't flush, dirt on walls and window sills. I could go on. Pass it up.

We had high expectations for this hotel based upon the rating, price and the photos. The first impression of the entrance to the Hotel Metropole set the tone for the decor. Small entrance on the square, with a flight of stairs to get to the small elevator. No assistance in getting luggage up the stairs to the lobby. Lobby furniture... More
