This hotel is right on Praca Dom Pedro IV, also called the Rossio, which is about the most ideal location. Considering how hilly Lisbon is, you can almost walk anywhere, or take a quick Metro, funicular, tram or bus up the hills (and walk down) to everything except Belem, for which you have to take a tram, bus or taxi.... more

Great location. Lovely character hotel. Staff extremely helpful and breakfast was great. In need of a refurbisment, bathrooms a little dated and getting dirty, rooms were ok. Squeaky bed! Kept on waking our baby everytime we got into bed. There's a flight of stairs (approx 10) before you get to the lift so not baby friendly for any buggies. more

This hotel is located on lisbon`s downtown, nice rooms wìth a great view to saint gorge´s castle( castelo de sao jorge), although this hotel lacks on security, from guestrooms might disappear stuff( in my case 2 cameras) and according to the receptionist in the same day dissapeared, from another guest´s room, one laptop. more

Couldn't get a better location - easy walking distance for the whole of Lisbon. Literally around the corner from the train station that takes you straight to Sintra (highly recommended). Close to tubes - but we didn't need them - walked everywhere. Right on a vibrant square - which does provide a bit of noise, but rooms well insulated and... more

This was our last stay in Portugal for Chuck Supplee and myself, Danny Fabela. The staff was very professional and attentive. The rooms were of adequate size and very clean. The balcony view was awesome overlooking the square. Great cafes, fresh pastry shops and restaurants right outside hotel. Museum and the like were just walking distance. A decent European style... more

We stayed at the Metropole only one night, but loved the location and the room. Our room was on the fifth floor and had two large windows that overlooked Rossio Square and Castelo Sao Jorge above. The location was our primary reason for staying here and we were so happy we did. The hotel is located in the historic Baixa... more

We booked this hotel last minute as we needed somewhere to stay in Lisbon. This little hotel is tucked away in Praça Dom Pedro IV Square so it makes it very central and close to everything, including 3 metro stations. In saying this, taking the Metro with your luggage is not such a good idea with the number of stairs... more

We stayed at the Metropole for a week at the end of Oct. We wanted something central with charm. The Metropole was exactly what we were looking for. It's right on the Plaza Rossio and we had a balcony with a view of the Plaza and the castle. As it was Oct it wasn't noisy at all. The furnishings are... more
