Excellent location, close to shopping, restaurants and main attractions. Breakfast was ok, but helpful for saving time. Noise level was medium, typical city life. Room size good, safe available in the room.

This hotel location is about the best location you can get in Central Lisbon. It right on Praca do Rossio. The breakfast is marginal. The service is impeccable. Everything is great until you are there on a hot humid night. They advertise air conditioning but it is just a noisy fan blowing outside air. It is a dated place which... More

This is a lovely old hotel, but the important word there is "old" ... it has a shabby charm about it, and both myself and my travel companion loved staying there. The room was perfectly clean and the beds comfortable, it was spacious and had most of the amenities you'd expect. The hotel info in the room proudly advised that... More

We stayed here for four nights in july and enjoyed it alot. The hotel was a bit hard to find as the entrance is hidden behind some trees. The location is superb, near to bus stops, metro and trainstation. By staying here, you will save alot of money by not having to take a taxi. The hotel itself is a... More

this is an building more then 100 years old. located right on the rossio plaza, centre of lisbon. the receptionists are professional. the facilitis are not in good maintainance. the breakfast is average. you should go up stairs first and then you can get the elevator, even though you have big suitcase with you.

Nice folks at the desk but holes in upholstery, lumpy dusty pillows, old towels, grease stains on sofas, big cracks in wall and tile, sinks don't drain, toilets don't flush, dirt on walls and window sills. I could go on. Pass it up.

We had high expectations for this hotel based upon the rating, price and the photos. The first impression of the entrance to the Hotel Metropole set the tone for the decor. Small entrance on the square, with a flight of stairs to get to the small elevator. No assistance in getting luggage up the stairs to the lobby. Lobby furniture... More

Don't expect luxury on this hotel although it has its old european charm and reasonably clean. Location is great, you can take number 1 city center bus from the airport and the rossio bus station is right in front of the hotel. Bear in mind the check in counter is on the first floor with steep staircase or you can... More

Fronting Praca Dom Pedro, couldn't be more central. A perfectly satisfactory 3 star hotel. Glad that we had a relatively quiet rear room without a view; the superior front rooms were said to be very noisy with some musical event or other playing in the Square. It's worthwhile checking if any such event is on before booking. I'd definitely stay... More

This is a long overdue review from a trip taken back in 2007; Hotel was selected primarily for its location and it did not disappoint; Hotel was small but non the less clean, nothing grandeur but good; I recall generally a pleasant experience and from recent reviews it appears that it remains the same so I thought to encourage others...
