This was our last stay in Portugal for Chuck Supplee and myself, Danny Fabela. The staff was very professional and attentive. The rooms were of adequate size and very clean. The balcony view was awesome overlooking the square. Great cafes, fresh pastry shops and restaurants right outside hotel. Museum and the like were just walking distance. A decent European style... more

We stayed at the Metropole only one night, but loved the location and the room. Our room was on the fifth floor and had two large windows that overlooked Rossio Square and Castelo Sao Jorge above. The location was our primary reason for staying here and we were so happy we did. The hotel is located in the historic Baixa... more

We booked this hotel last minute as we needed somewhere to stay in Lisbon. This little hotel is tucked away in Praça Dom Pedro IV Square so it makes it very central and close to everything, including 3 metro stations. In saying this, taking the Metro with your luggage is not such a good idea with the number of stairs... more

We stayed at the Metropole for a week at the end of Oct. We wanted something central with charm. The Metropole was exactly what we were looking for. It's right on the Plaza Rossio and we had a balcony with a view of the Plaza and the castle. As it was Oct it wasn't noisy at all. The furnishings are... more

After having a bad experience with another hotel, we found this property and got an excellent large room with 2 balconies that overlooked Rossi square and the Castle Sao Jorge. The room was very nice and spacious, the staff very accomodating and the location excellent. It was the best room overall we had on our trip and was priced well... more

I would rate this place a 2 star hotel & feel that at nearly $190(the rate we got) for the night at least $50 to much. The hotel has a lot of potential for a renovation & is right in the city center but that also means drug dealers & a few beggars outside the hotel doors. The breakfast was... more

The Metropole is in an unrivalled location right on Rossio. We took the airport bus to the stop right outside the hotel. We had a nice room at the corner of the building overlooking the square. The room was spacious, perhaps its corner location made it a little bit larger than some. There was a bit of traffic noise from... more

The first night I was ready to move to another hotel. We had a tiny room in the back of the hotel. The furniture is shabby looking and there is not comfortable seating, so you end up sitting on the bed. There was a parade that was unbelievably loud. The window looks right into someone's apartment, so we kept the... more

We arrived at the Metropole exhausted and looking bedraggled. Unfortunately, we were 5 hours early for check-in. They were kind enough to offer us a room immediately (unfortunately, the bed was too small). Within 1 1/2 hours they gave us a choice of two rooms, one overlooking the Rossio and another facing the rear of the hotel. The one with... more
