We have now visited Palacete Chafariz d'el Rei 3 times and would not even think about staying anywhere else in Lisbon. It is so much more than a hotel. It is an experience. The welcome we are given each time we arrive from the very professional yet friendly young staff is so warm and genuine. They are understandably proud of... More

With a fantastic location, this Palace offers the best brunch in Lisbon. The quality of products combined with Portuguese art of hospitality, make this establishment a place to visit and stay overnight if possible. The small garden outside have a magnificent view over the river Tejo. Take a small group and enjoy the fabulous brunch in the arabic room. A... More

This little palace by side of Tejo river is a lovely and unique place that take us to another age... The architecture is in artnouveau style, with a vintage and charming decoration. I recomend the to go to the tea room take a brunch ou just eat a scone and drink a tea..

Difficult to find a very good hôtel in Lisbonne, either they are far away from the heart of the city or they are old fashion Palaces not Palace any more. So the problem is the location since the streets of the city go up and sometime down all the time and you keep on climbing stairs. The Palacete is located... More

Delicious food and beverages (especially the fresh-squeezed juices and breads), excellent service from the wonderful staff, all in a beautiful and elegant setting. Don't miss this best brunch location

My girlfriend and I stayed for four nights. The staff were professional and friendly. We had freshly made continental breakfasts each day (freshly baked bread, fruit salad, fruit juice, coffee, croissants, eggs, bacon - all delicious!) There were no hidden charges. Stained glass windows and period furniture give the hotel a unique character. We would go back in a heartbeat!

Our first time in Lisbon and we hope not our last. For this trip we wanted to do things differently. Normally, for city trips we don’t put too much emphasis in how perfect the room has to look, we focus rather in the location thinking that we only need a very comfortable room in a great located area as a... This boutique hotel is a beautifully renovated art-nouveau mansion with 6 suites. Antique furniture and porcelain, high ceilings and chandeliers. Their staff made us feel welcome from the very moment we entered and made every effort to meet our needs and provide any assistance required. Always smiling, always ready to help (they arranged a wonderful bouque of roses for my... More

Despite being a local, I had never heard of this beautiful place. It is really hidden in a narrow alley of the old district of Alfama. You go through the discreet door and you are awed at the marvelous restoration of this amazing (6 rooms only) "palacete" (small palace). We stayed at suite Lucia and our friends at suite Paula,... For the travel weary, who have gone the world over staying at the Omnis, Hiltons, sheratons, ritz..banyon tree..maranuchi and other large or renowned hotels...there comes that point when we have to conclude that the right atmosphere, service, food and accoutrements either enhance and make a trip magical or can frankly cast a shadow if not ruin a stay. Even if... More
