From the moment you arrive you are made to feel very special as a guest staying here. The staff are young and very keen to show you around ''The House'' as they call it. You are given a guided tour before being escorted to your room. We were staying for 3 nights in Suite Amaya which had a River view... More

My daughters and I spent 2 days at the hotel. The staff was very welcoming and they went out of their way to make our brief stay very memorable. Rooms were unique - charming, yet very clean and spacious. Breakfast was amazing. Locale was perfect to visit other sights in Lisbon. Hotel has an outdoor veranda that overlooks the river... More

Sadly we didn't stay at the hotel but were recommended to have drinks on the terrace. The building is stunning and everyone was so friendly and the service outstanding. Sunday brunch is the thing, but sadly we were only in Lisbon Wednesday to Saturday. Perfect location for exploring the city. When we travel to Lisbon again this will be our... More

It's a charming small hotell with only a few rooms. Breakfast is fantastic, and so is the hotell staff. Our room was huge, with kitchen and living room, and a nice view of the river. The room, and whole house, is clean and are furnished in a mixed style of really old, 1950s and new. You must like a hard... More

Have the hotel arrange your pick up, if the driver drops you off at the front, you have many stairs to climb with baggage. Or, get very good instructions so you enter properly. When we first arrived I was concerned, we came in the main door, which is down a narrow alley. Once they open the door it's like stepping... More

I cannot think of a single thing to fault Palacete Chafariz D'El Rei on - the staff were fabulous and no task was too much trouble. The building was beautiful, the suite glorious and the air conditioning in the bedroom fabulous considering it was 34 Celsius outside. Maybe my only complaint - we were only booked in for one night... More

When you arrive at Palacete Chafariz d'el Rei, the staff tells you to think of it as your house. Before too long, you will. The palacete is off the beaten path, and as mentioned in other reviews, not easy to find. But its location in the Alfama district makes it ideally situated for exploring and dining. Nearby there are a... More

I can confirm all the above excellent reviews! Nothing to add, only a personal extra "thank you" to the most lovely staff we ever encountered. the best! If I have to say something negative, it would be about the level of noise inside the building. You can not avoid it and some noises are part of the charm, as it... More

Amazing trip back to Lisbon late XIX century in a lovely small villa; just stay there with your best book and dream of times past . . . . . The ships of today will pass in front of your windows, before you go downstairs for your pesonal breakfast or havin tea with your friends in an art nouveau atmosphere.

We have now visited Palacete Chafariz d'el Rei 3 times and would not even think about staying anywhere else in Lisbon. It is so much more than a hotel. It is an experience. The welcome we are given each time we arrive from the very professional yet friendly young staff is so warm and genuine. They are understandably proud of... More
