Nicely decorated, homely, clean, staff is nice and helpful. Stayed in 6 bed mixed dorm - I was surprised I got quite a lot of sleep (or maybe I was the loudest snorer ?! ;)) Breakfast was good, but I guess ppl are not too social in the morning. Really centrally located next to a metro station. Too bad I... More

We stayed 4 nights here arriving at midnight going out right away to enjoy night life. Location couldn't be better, walk up the small streets and you will find either great bars or nice restaurants (Carmo for example). Rooms are small, but nicely designed just enough, shared bathrooms were clean and newly decorated. Staff is very friendly and helpful they... More

The Lisbon Poets Hostel was where I started my first trip to Europe & even though I only stayed for two nights (plus a third to fly back home), it is by far the best hostel I ever stayed in! Not only is it affordable, the rooms are top notch and could even rival those of some hotels! The staff... More

We stayed for 5 nights in the apartment, just a few meters away from the Lisbon Poets Hostel. An excellent location for a couple. The apartment offers a spacious living room with a kitchinette, a bathroom and an upstairs bedroom. It's just around the corner from the Rua Garrett, Cafe A Brasiliera and the Chiado metro stop. If you're up... More

My boyfriend and I stayed there for a week, in the private rooms. The rooms are gorgeous, really clean, simple and pretty design. Super clean bathrooms. Great common room, again perfectly clean and has everything you need (and more). Great selection of (cheap) drinks, and great (again, cheap) 4- and 5-course dinners each night where you can get to know... More

I started my European adventure in Lisbon at the Poets Hostel. I was genuinely impressed by the atmosphere and the staff's hospitality. Although I was there a short time, I had an amazing time thanks to this hostel. This place has got you covered! You start your day with breakfast that is included with your fellow hostelmates. When you go... More

Myself and 2 friends (ladies in their mid-twenties) spent a fun long weekend in Lisbon. The hostel and staff were lovely, helpful and full of character. It was a great base for our trips out and around the city. The hostel was very clean, had a great feel to it and the staff were so kind when my friend's purse... More

Arrived to the hostel and the girl that was there she was very nice and welcoming, also explained everything about the Hostel. I just was a bit disappointed when arrived to the room anf it wasn't the room that I thought I have booked, I would advise if you're booking online just give them a call to check if you'll... More

Really nice hostel and excellent location. Great restaurants, churches and museums around. The staff is kind, but there was also some distraction in their behavior. The shared van service offered is not good; the responsible told me only 15 minutes earlier that couldn´t drive to the airport.

Really nice hostel that was chilled out and decorated well with some.good tunes! Pretty cheap hostel and I got it recommended by my friend who works in tourism and a Portuguese friend. The beds were clean and the staff were helpful. Good atmosphere. Would use again.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Set between cobblestone alleys and old streets, Lisbon Poets Hostel is the perfect place to soak up the charm of this mythical city. Located in Chiado - the most happening district in Lisbon - you'll find us amongst the most beautiful buildings which were restored to their former glory after the earthquake of 1755. It's also the arts district - you'll find out what Portuguese street art is all about, as well as many small art galleries in the least expected places, little-known concert venues and the best alternative designer decor shops in the city. Lisbon Poets hostel sits above 'A Brasileira', Lisbon's most famous cafe, and is just steps away from the Baixa-Chiado metro exit. Just beside us is Bairro Alto, the famous nightlife district where you can dance the night away, with streets full of bars, cafes and general booze-filled fun times. ... more   less
