This hostel has been the best one I have ever stayed in. The bunk beds are wooden so they don't make a noise whenever you move. The mattress and pillow are comfortable. Would recommend the Sintra tour. The pub crawl was a bit disappointing but it was good place to meet other people. The breakfast is really good and so... More

The first thing that struck me about the hostel was the friendly atmosphere. We arrived there around midnight, and all the people we passed on the way up to the room said "hello" to us. The staff were friendly and caring. I think their first question to me was "How are you". I believe this hostel is perfect if you... More

I really loved this place. I booked it following the nice reviews and now I totally agree with them. If you travel alone, you will not be bored! The international atmosphere is great! As you share the room with the guys al over the world. Among the advantages are nice location, delicious pancakes for breakfast, friendly stuff! Joana and Lucas... More

I stayed at Alfama because the infamous Lisbon Hostel was booked out. I'm really glad this was the case though because Alfama is a fantastic hostel with a great vibe. It feels more laidback than Lisbon Hostel which is just what you want after a long day seeing the sights of Lisbon. It's only a short work from the city... More

The centre of the Alfama Patio Hostel is a very pretty inyard with alot of flowers and plants where you can enjoy your meals and meet other backpackers, watch a soccer game together or just hang out and relax in the hammack. Our room was cozy and clean, the bed was comfortable, it is a very nice hostel which we... More

Part of a chain of hostels this place emphasised socialising ei pub crawls or bbqs even tho it was very nice and homely sized good breakfast and kitchen facilities. Nice terrace to watch the sun set on historic alfama .very much enjoyed my stay but might... More

So sad to leave. If you want to feel a little bit connected to Portuguese history, this is the best place to stay. The people who work here are lovely, the rooms special, the location incredible. It is also very safe (not that Portugal is scary) and has everything you need. If you want more, you should question whether you... More

After an absolutely awful week I came here Friday evening and within minutes found myself in a nice little room with amazing views of the river. Truly appreciated the fact that the hostel served dinner; spent a few hours chit-chatting with lots of great guys. Stayed in a single room on the top floor. Wonderful views and surprisingly calm and... More
