Convenient location: Rossio square, subway station Rossio, railway station, Elevador de Santa Justa are nearby. Nice view from the window. Friendly and helpful staff. There is no lift in the residence. But a guy from reception helped me to carry my heavy bags up to 3th floor. There is not enough space in the room but it's ok if you... More

The hotel room and bath room are clean. The check in guy wasn't that nice. The rest of the staff have been nice. The hotel is convenient and close to stations and also close to the main attraction area. There is also wifi in the room. Things to note is that that there are 48 stair steps to get to... More

I have been in this establishment before, and I did enjoy my stay with my family, and that is why I came back. While mentioning that I was a return guest, the young man at the reception that, I clearly remember from last time, couldn't care less and gave us a very bad service, no information at all. I was... It is as close to the city centre as you can get, very convenient for touring around either by feet or using public transport. Staff is helpful. The rooms are clean although quite small, particularly in the bathrooms and the beds. Sometimes the small of bleach is a bit overwhelming, especially if the room is close to the service area.... It is Cheap, It is clean, It's nice... Exactly what can you expect from a pensão! The rooms are small... very small but clean. The wc are incredibly small... :) but again, clean a sweet. You cannot make a mistake, this is a very central place to stay.

Very small bathroom/toilet with excessive noise of the ventilation. Double bed is smaller than it should be. Excessive noise in the evening coming from the street and the arrival of the neighbours next door.

The room was cleaned every day and the staff were helpful on hand 24 7. The rating is based on it being a 2 Star hotel, people rating it 1 or 2 star should have gone somewhere more expensive, I was happy with what we got for the price! Very near by a lot of big sites, the Elevator being... More

Our first stop in Portugal was Lisbon and after a very long flight it was great that just taking a bus we could get to the place, the check in provided us all the information we needed for places to eat and things to do. What a wonderful location it was, and the rooms were exactly what we needed. Great... More

Staying in Chiado & Carmo

Neighborhood Profile
Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally, "squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used to. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of Lisbon from the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Carmo Convent, for example. A commercial neighborhood at its core, especially for its Garrett and Carmo streets, Chiado is to this day a mandatory visit in Lisbon.
