We stayed at the Colina Flora for two nights as part of a walking holiday. We were tired when we arrived but James was very welcoming and Aasta provided tea and home made cakes to revive us. We were in the room upstairs which is large and has views in every direction - stunning and very comfortable. On our first... More

We like many I guess we plucked Colina Flora out of the web ether, but with some confidence as we'd used Responsible Travel before who have always come up trumps with our preferred type of holiday stay. This beautiful tranquil spot certainly was no exception! Aasta and James are perfect hosts, very welcoming and the perfect combination of interesting and... More

I stayed at Colina Flora for 2 nights as part of a walking holiday in Sintra National Park. I was really impressed with how welcoming and helpful our hosts James and Aasta were. They have excellent knowledge of the local area and what it has to offer. Nothing is too much trouble as far as they are concerned. The guesthouse... More

We went for the walking and we were rewarded. Having eaten a delicious breakfast we were able to set out and enjoy the countryside and costal area based on James' walking maps and recommendations. An invitation to a concert at a local Quinta was an unexpected treat - thanks to our considerate hosts. A lovely serene setting - many thanks... More

From the minute I came through the arrivals door at the Lisbon airport and saw James holding a sign with my name, until James dropped me off at the airport a week later...I had the most amazing week! James and Aasta are the perfect hosts at Quinta Colina Flora. The guest house is an oasis in rolling hills near the... More

Quinta Colina Flora is one of those rare finds. Perfectly secluded in the hills near the gorgeous town of Sintra. It's easily accessible from Lisbon but far away enough that you feel any city is a million miles away. James, Aasta and Lucca were the most amazing hosts and could not have been more helpful. The breakfasts were superb and... More

I visited the Colina flora this past October and never wanted to leave. The location is beautiful with views to the sea across a beautiful landscape. It is off the beaten track so you feel like you can really relax, but if you love adventure and exploring and exercise, you may not have time to relax. James will send you... More

We absolutely adored Colina Flora and cannot wait to return someday. Tucked away in the hills near Sintra, it is truly a magical oasis. The B&B was beautiful and cozy - it felt like a home away from home. James, Aasta and their little dog Lucca were wonderful hosts who went out of their way to make our stay happy... More

Beautiful views, bright rooms and a warm welcome here from James, Aasta and Lucca. We enjoyed hikes to Monserrate and the Convento dos Capuchos (not to be missed!). Breakfasts with Aasta's homemade muffins and granola were exceptional. Plumbing was slightly quirky, but always functional. In all, a terrific place to stay with hosts who go above and beyond to make... More
