This stay was just not meant to be. When we arrived to our room we were overwhelmed with the lingering cigarette smoke, construction noise, dredging of the Marina, plumbing noise, motorcyclists doing wheelies out front and a large tent being erected just outside our room. We would not be able to stay at the hotel without having the windows open... more

we have spent 1 night in room n°6 . V.A. is a very relaxing and romantic place. the service is first class and you can either go to the swimming pool in hotel albatroz or to the beaches nearby or to guincho. I am travelling quite a lot and have seen quite a lot of hotels and I know quite... more

Just back for 4 nights at the Villa. We found the place to be very good with polite and attentive staff. I would not consider it to be 5 star however, it would be more like 3.5 to 4 star on a European scale. I figure that the Portuguese star system is different from Ireland's. The room was a basic... more

I have just returned from a stay at Villa Albatroz and found my experience totally different from the visitor from Texas. It is a charming and pleasant guest house, situated right in the centre of Cascais. It is perfect for someone who loves to stay in the centre of town with all facilities within easy reach. The staff were friendly... more

I am surprised by the negative comments of the visitor from Texas regarding this hotel. I recently spent 3 nights at the Villa Albatroz, for considerably less than the cost of the other hotels in the Albatroz chain. I found the hotel really comfortable, the staff incredibly friendly and helpful, breakfast was great - I don't drink coffee, but hey... more

Stayed at the main Hotel Albatroz 4 or 5 years ago when we had an excellent evening meal at the Villa Albatroz and vowed that if we returned to Cascais the Villa would be our choice - location (right in the centre of town), major parking probs at the main hotel and very 'iffy' reception staff (that's the main hotel... more

We booked this hotel on line on the basis that the Hotel Albatross was full, but that the 5 star Albatross Villa was "just as good". Nothing could be further from the truth. The Albatross Villa is little more than a "dormitory" bearing the prestigious Albatross name. The room was OK, but was quite noisy as you can hear very... more

We stayed two nights at the Villa Albatroz in Cascais. We had the bay view room on the second floor with the orange painted walls. First of all the hotel is very expensive (we payed EURO 280 per night per room) and the room was very small The room looks much bigger on the picture in the internet. The air... more

On a photo shoot for the Portueguese Government Tourist Office over a decade ago, I was sent to Cascais and included in the sites to photo was the albatroz Hotel. I promised myself then that one day I would return and STAY @ this magnificent palace set upon a cliff. Well, a decade later I did just that. As a... more

I've stayed in this superb located guest house for a 3 days short break and I can only say that I already booked an entire week by September! Very well decorated, with a 5 stars service from their staff. Just waking up looking towards the beautiful bay of Cascais is a overwhelming experience. more
