We have stayed at the Vila Gale Hotel in Cascais 3 times out of 7 visits to Cascais because of it´s fair prices and it´s fine location close to the center of Cascais, but still in quiert area next to the sea. This hotel is not perfect and the drawbacks include their charging extra for your in room safe?? and... More

This is a 4 star hotel by Portuguese standards, but I think it's closer to 3 star, to do better means doubling the budget. The combination of location, price, facilities and service make it solid value for money in Cascais. I have only given 3 out of 5, but if the weather had been good we would have been happy... More

Visited March 14, with my son, having never been to Cascais before. I thought the hotel was closer to the train station but it is about 20mins walk. Fine if you do not have luggage but easier to take a taxi due to cobbled streets and slightly uphill walk. I really liked the location, lovely scenic walk into town. All... More

Just returned from Vila Gale Cascais, Arrived late and was pleased to see the buffet still open after 10.00 with all dishes replenished. We had a sea view room on the sixth floor, the room was very large. clean and quiet. The hotel is located right on the edge of town overlooking the marina and an excellent promenade. The train... We stayed here on a timeshare exchange and it was great. We had a lovely big room over looking the sea and pool. The room was nicely furnished and we had a small kitchen which was good. They don't provide washing up liquid so bring some and also a dish cloth. They came in every day to make beds and... More

We normally use Gale hotels in Portugal. But the Vila Gale in Cascais was very far from the quality I have come to expect from the group. The staff both on reception and in restaurant were very pleasant and helpful. HOWEVER the junior suite I had booked was TINY. The main bedroom was too small to have even two bedside... More

Firstly the staff are friendly :) the hotel itself is very dark, along with our suite. Windows were filthy however on complaining they did come and clean them. Beautiful view. Lovely pools. Ideal location close to small beach. Food reasonable. Not a lot else to say.

Great location, friendly staff, room perfect. We stayed for 3 nights. It's only 5-10 mins walk to the centre of things so location. Would be difficult to beat. Wasn't quite warm enough for the pool and it was quite quiet but found every staff member there happy and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

First : watch out when comparing. There's another hotel with same name in Estoril !! Here we liked the sea-view and the terrace (with wobbly table); We did not like : Cold coffee at breakfast buffet, not enough light in room to read by, plastic sheet on bed (we're not babies), bath mat the size of a napkin and last... Modern hotel with nice buffet breakfast with all the choices one would want. Good bar with pool table and TV. Across the street from the ocean. Less than 5 minute walk to city center. Also, in the opposite direction, close to the Boca del Inferno, a chasm in the shore side cliffs. Paved walk above the ocean for miles. Next... More
