This place has been recently taken over by new management and is in the process of being given a facelift/paint job. We were one of the first guest to stay in spring. We arrived after a long drive and asked for all sorts of extra's which the staff was very happy to supply. Could not fault them for charm and... More

What a fantastic place to stay. This charming little hillside estate is greater than 300years old. Being owned & operated by the same family for centuries- adds to the allure. The public accomodations section of the estate- consists of a small set of wood & stone cottages, divided into one or two habitations each. The previously completed renovations have honoured... This place was truly a pearl, that we were so happy to find on our trip to Portugal the summer of 2013. It is (we both agree) the most idyllic place we have ever stayed on a trip. We had our own apartment with its own kitchen and bathroom, cozy and clean. It was truly a wonderful place, and you... More

He made everything happen just as it should. It is calm and beautiful and this site is unique. Hopefully it stays as it is as we heard... More

A nice place to stay, plenty of very attractive and well maintained grounds to wander about in and a fairly decent pool. Our room was a bit gloomy and without any real outdoor space outside our room to sit and relax. We had to move outdoor furniture around (with the permission of the owner) to have breakfast outside in the... More

Quinta de Rio Alcaide is a corner of paradise in the middle of the wonderful Estremadura countryside. Rooms are very big (mostly an apartment) and the swimming pool is a little jewel immersed in a delicious green valley. Really nothing to complain about. The two owners are quiete people always ready to give you help if necessary (we asked for... More
