I just currently spent the past week at The Paintshop with my boyfriend taking advantage of their Surf Camp Package. It was the best decision we made with regards to our vacation time this year. Steve and Deb and their incredible staff (Star the dog included) were more than accomodating and welcoming. We stayed for 7 nights and 8 days... More

The Paintshop is the best hostel ever, here it is like being in a house full of friends. Everyone is friendly, caring and thoughtful, and remembers your name :). It is how hostels should be really : great atmosphere, great staff, great bar. Also, as I am a vegan I usually just buy food and cook on holidays. This time... More

Steve and Deb are the most amazing people I've ever met. I believe that they (and the rest of the staff!!) will do anything to make you feel at home :-). Breakfast is awesome. There is a wide variety of food you can choose from. The bed- and bathrooms are very tidy. On Mondays they have a pizza night and... More

Everything about this hostel is just perfect. It feels like a home and the staff are amazingly helpful and friendly. This hostel goes the extra mile every time. Picking guests up and dropping them off to surf camp and other various activities. The owners are so knowledgable about the area and in giving tips on the best places to go... More

We were made to feel so welcome by all the hostel staff which really made our holiday. The group meals (pizza night, BBQ etc) were a great way to get to know everybody else in the hostel. The hostel is very well decorated with comfortable bunk beds, a very clean kitchen and bathrooms, good showers, good wifi, lots of food... More

I stayed there for a week on a surfing holiday. Good timing as there was a festival on in Figueira da Foz a the time! Also, the World Cup was on at the time so between surfing, partying and football, it really was a full agenda! The Paintshop hostel is clean and well run. The staff are lovely and go... More

I've stayed at upwards of 80 different hostels over the years, and I have to say that the Paintshop is my absolute favourite. I've been down for a visit the last three years running and I can't wait to go there again. The weather's great, the beach is gorgeous, it's the perfect place for chilling in the sunshine, catching a... More

The Paintshop Hostel is one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in! There is a fantastic balance between fun and relaxing that has been created by both the layout of the hostel and the owners. The private rooms are on the upper level of the hostel which keeps those rooms nice and quiet, while the group rooms are... More

Went to Paintshop on my own purely for the one week surf camp. First time travelling on my own and I am so glad I picked this place. My time with Steve, Debbie, John, Claire, Star and new friends was simply amazing and there never was a dull time. The hostel itself was huge and lots of places to sit... More
