The Palacio da Lousa was somewhat a deception. The hotel facade looks very impressive and the setting is OK. But as usual the devil is in the detail. The hotel is beautiful, the restaurant is exceptional the pool is delightful. But the air-conditioning is very noisy even when switched off. The view from the gardens is of a housing estate. The front rooms are on a very busy lane, the traffic is busiest at night, when the Portuguese socialize. Lousã is a quaint little town that really comes... more
