The stay here represented good value for the money. The location is not ideal although it is an easy 10 minute walk to the historic downtown quarter. The place is dated, no doubt about it. The room is plenty large although there were some issues: a/c did not work, it blew hot air - the shower was spraying water all... More

The Tivoli Hotel was a great choice for our short stay in Coimbra. It is an easy walk from the train station and main squares and offers large, comfortable rooms at a reasonable price. The staff is very helpful and friendly, offering tips and directions. The hotel is more reasonably priced and modern as compared to many other choices in... More

Home to one of the oldest universities in Europe, there is a difference between a ruin and a place gone to ruin, and the Tivoli Coimbra sits firmly in the latter. The rear of the hotel is reminiscent of a long-ago abandoned Chernobyl supermarket carpark. Tall weeds growing between cracks, a layer of grime covering the paint-peeled walls, a general... More

I am demanding in what concerns the hotels. The service was nice and everyone welcoming. Our bags were in the room even before our arrival. You can see that it was an old building that was refurnished, they should bet in a different cleaning system as the aromas should be fresher. The room had space and was nice but the... More

My husband and I were travelling with a friend of mine and we were able to get two rooms here for a very reasonable price. The rooms were very large for European standards, the bathrooms were incredibly clean and the robe was comfy! Every single member of the hotel staff was incredibly helpful, they spoke English, Spanish and French very... More

Tips: 1.Indoor car Parking 7,5 Euros per day. Difficult to park for free outside. Up to 1 hour free parking in front of the hotel. 2.10 minutes walk to the city center. 3. Paid wifi internet in the hotel. but .... if you are a member of the GHA hotels ( free online subscription ) you pay nothing. 4. Happy... More

Modern, clean hotel. Room was on street side and was very noisy. Visited Coimbra during our 12 day vacation in Portugal based on an episode of Rick Steve's travel show. We were quite disappointed. Coimbra was hectic, run down and didn't offer a lot to see other than the university's stunning library (worth the 9 euro admission). I would definitely... More

Ancient building, the shower was moving around alone (loose fittings or something), bad lighting, the bed was unconfortable, with a deformed mattress, had a scenic view of a backdoor alley with all kinds of junk. All this with a 4-star hotel price. Had a MUCH better stay at Ibis everywhere and anywhere, for a much better cost.

Right in the center, big room and very clean, furniture a little bit old. Parking is 7.5 EUR/day (outside, on the street is 0.5 EUR/hour, from 8PM to 8AM is free if you find a free spot). Good breakfast, nice staff.

Our room was No. 211 and it was a very large room facing the Street. There was no street noise when the window blinds were lowered. There were two comfortable beds, a very large closet, a long desk with plenty of storage and a comfortable chair. The room was carpeted with a light brown carpet. There were two cane chairs... More
