A converted palace dating from 18th century, this fantastic place is located across the river from Coimbra's old town. It is a convenient walk into town. the facilities are sumptuous, as you would expect. The palace is located in a fantastic woods developed by its original owner. the palace is a central location of the romantic tale of Don Pedro... More

It's a beautiful hotel, with a wonderful and historical garden, the rooms are very nice specially in the new wing, they have a balcony facing the gardens, where so much of Portugal history as happened. Worth staying and visit both the palace and the gardens.

Were there with a small tour group. Our rooms not in the manor house were simply terrible. Tired is OK but the musty moldy smell was awful. We needed to crank up the AC fan just to make the room a bit fresher. Just outside the room was a reflecting pool which reflected the green slime on its surface. Wireless... More

Based on the romantic story of Ines and pedro this palaceo is quite romantic. Although it is not worth getting the room with the spa, as it is noisy and barely works. Good breakfast, but the interconnection is unreliable. Great dinner! The veal was amazing and the pork very tasty.

From the moment you first enter this tired and unrestored "palace" you will regret being here. The rooms are old and dingy, poorly lit and ugly. The woman who checked us in was unhelpful and frankly misleading, though the remaining staff were pleasant. There was only one spare plug in the room and no internet service in the breakfast room.... Lovely stay at this beautiful hotel.Bedroom in the original house was impressive with huge ceilings, deep wooden shutters and very elegant double bed. Loads of space with seperate washroom from bathroom. However there did seem to be a wide range of accomodation linked to the hotel so perhaps we were lucky.Breakfast was in the rather boxy annex, but there was plentty... We enjoyed the story about the love affair between Pedro and Ines, walking through the botanical gardens to find the spring. The rooms are luxurious with beautiful bed linens. Breakfast is huge with hot and cold items and lovely service. The outdoor pool is very nice. Service at the reception was outstanding. Since the hotel is a 15 minute walk... More

This is a hotel located in a park property across the river from Coimbra centre, at a distance of approx. 20 minutes walk. The property consists of a historic palace buildings, refurbished outbuildings and a modern wing. We have stayed in the outbuilding and received an upgrade to a (modern) suite, which was nice but we would actually prefer to... More

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of my 70th birthday celebrations. We had a lovely palace suite No 4, on the corner with nice views. Had the complimentary wine in the evening which was a nice touch. Had a light meal in the courtyard one night which was really nice and the wine was not expensive for a... More

We stayed in this palace hotel last week while on a personal trip. My wife and I purposefully booked it at the end of our journey to find peace and relaxation before returning home. We got an upgrade to a master room with a private courtyard- this was a great surprise and very welcome. Now, here are my facts, hope... More
