I stay in this hotel a weekend, and the rooms are +/- nice, and we have a pleasant experience. They have a great swimming pool and a spa, with sauna. Nice and hot. But... believe it or not, you MUST wear a swimming cap to go in the pool and jacuzzi! Anyone believe this? I travel a LOT and i never see this in any part of the world today. Maybe in the 70's? Very rude atittude... more

I found the Colina do Castelo to be a superior hotel. The attentiveness of the staff and the beautiful location make this one of my favorite places to stay. Unique to many hotels in Portugal, this one has an indoor heated pool. The prices are very reasonable and the location is high on a hill overlooking the city and the valley below. The rooms are comfortable and the food is excellent. It is within easy walking distance to the old city although you will have to walk up hill to get home at night. more
