To whom it may concern, I am writing you in sincere gratitude and appreciation of the wonderful and unforgettable experience we received from your hotel and staff during our stay. More specifically Pedro and Flavio. These two gentleman deserve all the credit for making our wedding day such a perfect experience! We contacted Pedro about a year ago with a... More

When in Portugal we usually try and incorporate one or more Pousadas in our itinerary. Staying at a hotel in a historic building definitely gives a sprecial ring to the holidays. In the case of the Forte de São Sebastião, however, one stays in a modern "concrete" hotel embedded within a 14th century defense fort. Whether one likes this is... More

The Pousadas de Portugal are a chain of luxury hotels usually situated in historic buildings throughout Portugal and its various islands. They used to be run by the Government of Portugal but were privatised in 2003. They are a similar concept tp the more well known Paradors in Spain. The hotel in the town of Angra do Heroísmo, is mostly... More

I hope that the Pousada Forte de Sao Sebastiao has won countless awards for the conversion of a 14th century fort into a modern hotel because it is stunning. Ocean views from every room, expansive area to relax by the pool and the ability to walk around the old port and pretend you're on watch for pirate invasions. Our room... More

We arrived at the Pousada late in the evening after a long journey from Norway. How delighted we were when we came to our suite. It was really huge, but with the bath built inside the suite, the old room was divided in two sections, one sitting area and one sleeping area. A good choice! And we had 5 windows,... More

Pousada is part of PESTANA chain which is in my opinion one of the best in the world ...the hotel is part of fortress and worth every penny ..yo can tell that they had to invest enormous money into renovation ...breakfast was also nice ...around hotel you Will find tranquility that azores are famous for ...would recommend to everyone ...

We had a reservation made by e-mail through pousadas, because the web site would not give any reasonable rate. When we arrived, they first could not find our reservation, then after searching further following my search for my printout, they found it. Next the issue apparently was to find us a room, although the place was empty mid-February; probably meant... More

Stayed at the pousada 2 days, not a lot of people due to it being out of season but the stay was very comfortable. Everything was great and no complaints, the only thing we could say was that they should have wireless internet throughout the hotel and either have a shower curtain or prolong the glass on the shower because... My flight arrived to Terceira Island early in the morning and I got to the hotel at breakfast time, well before check in time. I just wanted to leave my luggage but the very attentive staff told me that they will try to get my room ready while I was invited to have breakfast (which I was not entitled for,... More

our Condor plane had to make an emergency landing on Terceira. Lucky us. We were bused to the Pousada, arriving 11pm. They promptly laid on dinner for all the wary travelers, very good and tasty. The rooms are beautifully equipped and comfortable with a wonderful view of the ocean. Breakfast was self-service and plentiful. The only third world experience was... More
