We had an excellent stay at Talisman. Would rate it excellent if not for the extra fees not expected at a four star hotel. There's a charge for safes, parking and cash deposit for beach towels. Also stayed at two other four star hotels and no fees for same services. Having to pay 6 euros per day for inconvenient parking... More

The Hotel Talisman is a small modern hotel very clean, efficient and friendly staffed, smiling faces at desk, rooftop swimming pool looking over beautiful Ponta Delgada and speedy free wireless. The breakfast in the morning was complete featuring regional cheeses, breads, jams and many many other choices. The hotel at one time was a private home from which today's hotel... More

Our tour group of 42 had a buffet dinner at the restaurant at the Hotel Talisman. Dinner was delicious. One of the dessert offerings was a unique and creamy chocolate cinnamon ice cream. Dairy products in the Azores are wonderful and locally made, as the cows happily graze in pastures year round. This ice cream was exceptional. Be sure to... More

We enjoyed our stay at this centrally located hotel. We arrived very early after an overseas flight and they got us into our rooms right away. The staff was friendly and helpful. We didn't have a car so parking wasn't an issue, but their location was perfect for exploring the city and walking to a number of good restaurants. The... More

We had an excellent stay in this hotel. The ladies at the front desk were very helpful and even helped us to make reservations for a restaurant in Furnas that served food cooked in the caldeiras. The complimentary breakfast in the morning had a very nice selection including waffles, sausages, bacon and various types of cheed and bread. The dining... More

This is my second stay at the Hotel Talisman. I see all familiar faces so the management must take good care of their staff. A happy staff, a happy tourist. The staff and management are friendly and genuinely concerned about their guests. I was very jet lagged so stayed in the room my first day. I ordered 2 meals by... More

The hotel is central in the city but there is no parking space from the hotel so you have to park further away with always taxi meters to pay so you can't stay away too long. The only nice thing were the waffles you can make yourself for breakfast. One night we ate in the restaurant : TERRIBLE FOOD. After... More

Excellent location and lovely hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful especially on front desk. Breakfast was very good on the whole. The first morning we were there it was very busy, (we think there had been a wedding the day before) but after that service was fine. Great views from the pool area at the top of the hotel.... More

We stayed here for one week starting 16 August 2014. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good breakfast choice. Even though hotel was packed, the staff did well to replenish the breakfast choices. Room good. Quiet. Air-con worked well and adjustable. Bed comfy. The whole hotel and room had classic character. We tried the swimming pool on two days; clean, well... More
