The hotel in located right in the city center, you have everything nearby. Clean. Nice breakfast. nice staff. All you need after a day long travelling around the island. Would come back any time. The hotel is not overwhelming, but the island is.

This property has a great location which is very central to the attractions in downtown Ponta Delgada. We were in room 124 which is a large inner room overlooking the pool. It was quiet and the in room Wifi worked very well. The beds are a little hard and were twin sized pushed together to make a larger bed. The... More

Charming little old school style hotel, but it does lack few things: not all the rooms have wi fi, there is no kettle in the room (which is a shame because it would be such an enjoyment to have tea or coffee with the view of the charming roofs of nearby houses); there is an old tiny tv but great... The rooms are old and in desperate need of renovation. The furniture is from the 1980's at best. TV's are also old - from the 90's at best. Having said that, they have a good selection of channels. Wi-Fi is only available in the lobby, and maybe in some rooms directly above the lobby. Otherwise, no internet in the room.... More

This classic, privately run hotel is an oasis of calm with easy walking access to all points in Ponta Delgada by walking, local mini-bus or bus service to island's sights. The design respects the original school and the staff are most helpful. This is not your modern glitzy anonymous box, but a gem of value and consideration. Wonderful breakfast with... More

The hotel is located in the center of Ponta Delgado. Rooms are fine but not outstanding. I would say the biggest plus of the hotel is the location. The breakfast was ok but when some items were gone there was no refill. Don't like the dining room, dark and no atmosphere. The food was reasonable.

The Colegio has a fascinating history and a wonderful location. The public rooms and the pool area are lovely. Some of the rooms are quite nice, with antique furniture, and some very boring and pedestrian. The restaurant is very good, but expensive. The breakfast buffet is quite good, but the dining area for the buffet is small and you want... More

Overall, a good experience but agree with some of the reservations of other reviewers. The location is very good, just a short walk from most of the local attractions, although the walk can be interesting since the street is very narrow and cars squeeze by - I was brushed by a wing mirror. The room we had was facing the... More

We stayed here our first 2 nights in Ponta Delgada and we wish we had stayed longer! It's walking distance to everything, including the big shopping mall that's a little further north. Our tour guide recommended we try the restaurant that has a similar name closeby (27 Colegio) where they serve sushi by a sushi chef! Unfortunately we didn't get... More

Loved the quaintness of this hotel. Beds weren't incredibly comfortable but a great hotel for the value. We would definitely stay here again and while we didn't come with our kids this time, I see a kids play room and think that this would totally work for families too. Could easily walk to restaurants. Very happy with our choice.
