We try to go every year because it is so beautiful! We make up activities for the kids in the beautiful garden you can "get lost" in! Althogh now, at least on easter break the hotel provided some family fun! The thermal pool is great all year long as it is warm and soothing! The cuisine is fabulous whatever you... More

It's about an 1.5 hd drive from the city of Ponta Delgada but so worth it. Make sure to visit Furnas too as the are both on the east side of the island. The hotel is wonderful. Amazing huge Thermal Water Pool charged with essential minerals. It is one of the best ways to restore one's energy & experience the... More

An incredible experience. Truly enjoyed everything Sao Miguel has to offer. The gardens of the hotel are so lush, the hot water springs pool was very theraputic. The hotel was super clean and with such a neat art deco influence in it's design. The people of furnas are friendly and we very much felt comfortable walking around the town and... More

Terra Nostra prides itself on being the best hotel in The Azores, and it was really very nice - as it should be because for these islands it is a very expensive place to stay. We went there to relax at the end of a 3 week tour of the islands, and enjoyed the gardens and the location and the... More

Our stay at the terra nostra garden hotel was perfect. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly. Our room was modern, spacious and comfortable. The hotel is really quiet, we never heard our next door neighboors. The breakfast was excellent : lots of choices and fresh local products. We had dinnner once at the restaurant and once at the... Not only a first class hotel, but a naturally heated thermal pool that is bright orange with the iron content. As a hotel guest you can use the pool from first thing til midnight- and it's just fabulous. The service and quality of everything in the hotel was faultless….

Stayed here as a family for a short break in the middle of two weeks in Sao Miguel. The rooms were tastefully furnished and we had lovely views looking toward the glorious hot spring. Had a couple of hours in the spring - delightful although please wear dark coloured / relatively unloved swimwear as the iron in the water (which... More

You don't have to be staying in the hotel to get to explore the gardens and hot spring. You pay a small fee and you're able to explore. There's changing rooms and showers, so you have everything you need as just a visitor. But the water will change the color of you swim suit, so wear one you don't care... More

The main attraction of the hotel is undoubtedly the Gardens, which are unbelievably beautiful. The hotel is a great place to relax and hang out, especially when the weather is nice. The rooms are fairly spacious (at least the ones in the modern wing) and are nicely furbished. A couple of blips on the record: the minibar is roughly 3x... More

3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2014

We stayed for 4 nights at the end of July/beginning of August and were disappointed with the hotel - principally with its location. Being 500m up in the mountains we frequently found ourselves above the cloud line, or rather we would have done if we hadn't driven off to the coast and the sunshine! Three days out of four were...
