This is a rustic establishment and as such does not have every luxury, yet the welcome was warm and the breakfast what you might expect in the Azores. The pool was fine. There were lots of deck chairs and parasols around. The owners gave a lift from town and picked up other members of our party.

The Quinta do Canavial is a guesthouse with a great view, but a part from this, everything was dismissed and bad cared for.
The room was small, the shower was rusty and without windows, the garden was dry and not well mantained.
The rooms' furniture are very old and old fashioned with no care for details at all.
Every evening our room was inhabited by different insects (bees, etc...)
The B&B managers don't speak a lot of English and they have been quite unfriendly and sometimes even rude.
The breakfast was very poor: the variety was large: cheese, jogurt, jams, bread, tea... but the quality of the food was really very poor. This is a serious turn off on an island where people spend most of the day trekking around the island so the breakfast becomes the main meal of the day. The Quinta is supposed to have also a resturant, but when we asked to have dinner we've been answered with no explanation "no".
