Velas is small, quiet and charming. So is this place. We stayed for 3 nights in the turret room which has to be the best room in the b n b. It has a large bay window (fully double glazed), a full bathroom with a bath and over shower, in room safe, hair dryer, air con, TV, seating area and... More

Loved this quirky B & B. Beautifully maintained, with pretty garden and seating areas dotted around, giving excellent views of the harbour. Room was spacious and very clean. Excellent breakfasts. There are cakes and hot drinks on offer (free) all day long. Philomena, working from the travel agents within the B & B, was a gem!

My daughter and I stayed in an upper room, 2 sets of stairs but that was not a problem. We had an incredible view of the picturesque town and Pico volcano across the water. This B&B is filled with little flower gardens and outdoor sitting areas. The room was clean, beds comfortable, bathroom had what we needed and there was... More

This is an attractive and pleasant bed and breakfast. It is conveniently positioned near the harbour, and is an older building but tastefully updated, and clean . No kettle is provided in the room, but there is access to hot drinks 24 hours per day. We requested an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub, but only an en-suite shower was provided.... More

Casa do Antonio is an attractive, nicely designed modern establishment very close to the harbour and town centre in the small coastal town of Velas. It's well-located, clean, comfortable and quiet, and the staff are very helpful. There are two terraces to sit out on overlooking the harbour, and the property also houses the Aquarius travel agency - useful for... More

What a lovely find! This B&B starts with an unpretentious doorway, but once I stepped through it I was surrounded with a sense of comfort and relaxation. From the fish shaped lounge on the balcony--a perfect place to read, gaze out at the water or get peekaboo looks at Pico-- to the pocket garden with charming whale sculptures placed amongst... More

Everything was perfect. Wonderful location near the harbour, and the city center. Excellent views of Pico Island (and Pico Mountain as well). All the house excellent, from the fruits and the small cakes in the lobby, to the coffee and tea available 24/24. The rooms are large and Very good. I've rented a car, the parking was really easy. Thanks... More

A lovely place to stay, you wont be disappointed. Everything about Casa Antonio was perfect; from it's quirky fairytale appearance to its well equipped bathroom with wonderful supply of products (combs, shoe shine kit, mini toothbrushes, disposable razors, etc) better equipped that the 5 star hotel we moved on to, as was the air-conditioning! The air-conditioning was the best we... More

Antonio's is a short trundle from the ferry terminal. Antonio is an artist. The hotel he has designed and built is a work of art itself, stylish and immaculate. The balcony from our room had a wonderful view over the little town of Velas and the neighbouring island of Pico (also Portugal's highest mountain). There was a powerful shower attachment... More

This B&B was spotlessly clean, very charming and in a great location overlooking the harbour. Our room was small but more than adequate, and we had a lovely view of Pico. The small garden was covered in flowers and very pretty, breakfast was simple but great, and the little cakes in the hall on arrival back from a hot and... More
