Location, location, location...this hotel is conveniently located in front of the little Horta's harbour. Everything is at walking distance (ferry, shops, museums, restaurants, Peter's sport cafe', supermarket...). We spent 7 nights at this hotel and we have not been disappointed. The rooms are spacious and clean, with mini-bar and tea and coffee facilities. The bathroom is big and spotless. Our... More

We spent 3 nights in this hotel and enjoyed it very much. The location is very convenient, and our room had a stellar view, with a tiny French balcony overlooking the marina and across to Pico. The room was comfortable and included a cozy stuffed chair. There was an electric tea kettle and tea and coffee which was quite welcomed.... More

We spent 6 nights at the Hotel do Canal in early March of 2014 and, because it was the off-season, it felt like we were the only guests in the place. The front desk staff were always friendly, polite and helpful. We had a very well-appointed room with a nice view overlooking the marina. The rooms are spotlessly clean, particularly... More

First of all, Wifi is available at a charge, which is absolutely not acceptable now, then even 2 stars hotels have free Wifi. We were shoсked. The hotel has a great location. Room was cozy and well designed, but very dark. There were only 4 lamps, and one of them didn't work all time of our stay, although we asked... More

Stayed in the Hotel do Canal with my husband and 2 and ½ year old son for 4 nights and it was OK. The reception staff, when we arrived, were 2 teenaged boys who did not seem to know much about the island. After insisting, they finally recommended us a couple of restaurants which were quite nice. However, most of... More

Nicely located at the far end of town, right by the harbour where the whale and dolphin watching trips leave from and a few doors from the famous Peter's Cafe. A modern hotel with spacious rooms. Our side facing room with patio doors looked out over the church so was very quiet (the bells sounding the time are off from... More

Great location in Horta. Remember to ask for a room in the front in order to get a view of the water. Rooms for more than adequate & the staff great! Ask for their restaurant list as this is a very good start.

This is certainly one of the main hotels in Horta, and so that means the whole island. It is convenient, overlooking the old ferry terminal (which has now been resited at the far end of the sea front). The hotel is spacious, has some lovely quiet alcoves and lounges, and fine rooms, those at the front with small balconies facing... More

Probably the largest hotel on the isle of Faial located along the seaside road in Horta. Breakfast is good, service is good, and the rooms .... it all depends what you get. First we got a small room at the back of the hotel (with a busy road), where the airco did not work. Despite attempts to repair it the... More
