We came straight to the Casa from the Airport and immediately felt at home. Our host greeted us and showed us around and explained everything. After unpacking, once we made our way to the pool to relax on the sunbeds he even brought us a jug of icewater with slices of their own lemons, seldom did we get a warmer... More

An oasis of peace and calm, beautiful setting in the hills near Monchique. Manuella and Theo are welcoming, lovely people, speak excellent English, we had lots of interesting conversations together. The breakfasts are delicious, beautifully presented good quality food. Loved the toasted granola made by Theo [with coconuts and honey] yoghurt, marmalade made by Manuella, warmed bread, perfect eggs! Their... More

Surrounded in a beautiful area in Portugal full of mountains, this place is the perfect get away. Lovely garden filled with flowers and orange and lemon trees, with a pool just big enough with beautiful view and a jaccuzi. We had the room in the back of the garden, which was very spacious (the bathroom as well!), clean and beautifully... More

This is a great little find in the mountains just outside Monchique. Theo and his wife manuella were wonderful hosts. The breakfast whilst simple was more than adequate with a large variety of fruit, granola, ham cheese, eggs, croissant, fresh baguettes and home made jam. (Try the pumpkin jam. It is yummy). Our room was large and wry clean with... More

This is a place like no other. If you want excellent food (and you can get Theo to cook) you should ask. If you don't want anything but just lying around and not being bothered by anyone or anything, this is it. If you want the possibility to have good insightful conversations without judgement or questioning, this is also the... More

We stayed for 3 nights in September. The place is a hidden gem tucked away from hustle and bustle of coastal towns. Beautiful grounds, breakfast is to die for and Manu and Theo are very hospitable and proud owners of this peaceful place. They gave us recommendations to the beaches, restaurants and things to enjoy in this lovely area. If... More

We enjoyed our recent three night stay very much. But we were somewhat surprised that other reviewers did not remark on the relatively long distance that the hotel is from Monchique (about 15 min drive), and the restuarants. During our stay, there was a distinct odour which we thought was related to manure spreading nearby. The beds are foam and... More

We give our guests a list with quality restaurants, so that they have a good experience. There is a restaurant at a 5 minute drive but we would not send you there, the food is average and the service minimum. The beds are also to my taste a bit soft but 95% of guests love the beds. The manour is... More

We stayed 2 nights at Casa Spa d'Alma . It is a wonderfully relaxed place to stay, and an ideal base if you like walks in the mountains. Theo and Manuela are perfect hosts - couldn't be more friendly and helpful. They give you the run of their garden (which includes lemon trees), as well as the (small) pool and... More

We stayed with Theo and Manu over the New Year break and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Both host and hostess did all they could to make us comfortable and relaxed. Their conversation was delightful and wide ranging and they seemed to have the knack of "disappearing" to leave you space but being there when a little company; help; or... More

Dear friends, thank you for the wonderful review, we are honored. Funny what you say about the disappearing, we know stories about B&B owners that smother their guests with an overdose of attention. We like you to feel at home without any obligation. Looking forward to welcome you both again, Abraço Theo & Manu More

Spent the night at Spa d'Alma the end of December with my fiance', Karen. A bit out of town, but easy drive on good road, and well worth it. Friendly hosts, lovely grounds, large room with nice bathroom (and heated towel rack). Hot tub under the stars was a refreshing / relaxing way to end the evening. Excellent, filling breakfast....
