This hotel is not actually in monchique which is about 5 miles away. It is more a complex of various lodging spots and I guess unless you pay for the suites its pretty much pot luck what you get. I stayed at the Villa Termal das Caldas de Monchique in mid August and it was a very pleasant surprise. The resort is surrounded by pine and eucaliptus woods and has lovely gardens with two swimming pools, one of them for children. The place is very quiet, the staff is nice and polite and there's a natural water spring nearby. more

The entire village has been renovated to create a lovely resort, with a spa offering numerous treatments. Rooms are available in one of five buildings (4 small hotels and a 10 room apartment block). We stayed in the Hotel Central, and our double room was spacious, clean and well maintained. The bed was a little on the small side though.... more

this is a delightful spa resort in the sierra de monchique - we had a most enjoyable interlude in our holiday. the pool outside is very chill out. the indoor pool is terapeutic and relaxing. the bar and restaurant were enchancing this is a holiday must! more

We stayed for 3 nights at Hotel Central, the food, the place, the staff everythig was great. Quite enough if you want to relax. We also used the SPA facilities from Vichy shower to body massage and we've loved it. The place is wonderful and has one the most beautiful oudoor swimming pools we have seen.
